So.... from where I sit:
- Mahomes with his best overall game of the season last night ~ more important than any receiver takeaways - Worthy continues to be the legitimate deep threat the offense needs (should have had almost 90 yards in pass interference penalties alone) - JuJu still has the juice to be Diet Rashee. His chemistry with Mahomes is real and we can get by with what he brings in that role when Mahomes is playing better. - Watson is Watson, does the dirty work and usually good for one nice play per game. - Kelce still has it. Load needs to be managed a little so he is ready for the 'yoffs, but he is going to be the key piece in the passing game still. - Hardman is showing his value again with the gadgety stuff, way better than what Skyy was giving before losing his role. ... All we need is another man beater. A WR who can beat teams that try to just man us up all game with doubles on Kelce and Worthy. Insert Amari Cooper or Diontae Johnson. The exact type of WR they both are. |

I read somewhere that cooper has had about 50% of his passes off target. That is just bonkers. Awful even for a bad qb let alone a starting $250m qb |

Miss the remainder of the regular season, you say?

Posted that in the other Rice thread. Really makes me feel better that we can get 1 back if Rice and Hollywood both have a shot to return for the playoffs. We'd be more than fine with even one of those guys IMO.

If nothing else, it’s still positive to hear that the damage wasn’t catastrophic.
Would’ve really sucked to have a Fisher or Schwartz injury here where we lost a guy that we might be counting on long term. |

I'm guessing they mean he's done for the year, either way.
Go find a WR. |
So....maybe we kinda need to see how JuJu's knee responds?
Not before we decide if we need to acquire a receiver - we most assuredly do. But before we decide what TYPE of receiver we need to acquire. Because if JuJu's knee can hold up to back to back games okay, or at least can be managed, we might just have a possession guy that can do the job if you lean heavier into Kelce than you wanted to and if you complement it with an all-levels guy. So at that point, instead of looking at Cooper or Slayton, you look harder at Johnson and Kirk. I'm not saying JJSS is an answer - the mere possibility he might be some sort of regular contributor is absolutely stunning to me - but I'm saying he could change the question somewhat. |
I don't think they'll wanna move Slayton, the Giants are winning some.
Johnson would be the ideal guy IMO. |
I would not mind Demarcus Robinson. He had legit chemistry with Mahomes. It’s an underrated element of the game.

I mean yeah, Pickens is a headcase. But he didn't really jog on that play. He was trying to find a soft spot in the zone between the defender and the sideline. We talk all the time about smart receivers varying their route speed to keep that throwing lane open longer. Now there might be a question as to whether or not he should've found a little more depth there to be more quarterback friendly. But I wouldn't say effort was an issue there. Nor would I say that was a 'perfect ball'. It was, at worst, the QB and WR not being on the same page. It might have been a route that could've been tailored a bit and it could've just been a bad throw. |
