If I was an NFL free agent, I would not go to the Vikings. That stupid Viking horn on their loudspeaker is incredibly annoying after every single play. I've watched one game, and I'm already sick of it.

GB has plenty of weapons. Love just isn't as efficient. And let's not forget that Love has been in that system for years, played with most of those weapons for years, except for Jacobs. Meanwhile, Darnold is just a few months into his first season with his weapons, in that system, with those coaches. Darnold's not even playing with the whole playbook, fcs.

Azide22 12-29-2024 05:50 PM

A 14 win team isn't going to win a division, and will have to go on the road for a wildcard weekend game. Crazy

Darnold 21.7

Love - 451
Darnold - 605

EPA
Love - 51.9
Darnold - 70.3

Pass (epa with an emphasis on bigger plays)
Love - 41.7

Why Not? 12-29-2024 05:59 PM

I’d take Jayden Reed off their hands. They don’t seem to know how to use him.

Rain Man 12-29-2024 05:59 PM

The Vikings have some weird formation where they basically have no defensive tackles. They have two ends lined up really wide, and then a guy who looks like a defensive tackle, but he's three or four yards off the center alongside the linebackers. I assume you only do this if you're 100 percent certain that a pass play is coming.

Not necessarily. If the Vikings score a quick TD here, kick the XP it's 34-18 and the Packers need 2 TDs and two 2-pointers.

If the Packers kick an XP and the Vikings score, it's 34-17. Three score game, game is over. It's some way-ahead thinking math for sure, but it's guaranteeing a TD won't completely finish the game.

This Vikings win (assuming they hold on) means that the Sunday night game next week is pretty much guaranteed to be the Vikings vs Lions. Also, as near as I can tell, the Eagles and Vikings lose a three way tie with the Lions, so the Lions might actually decide to treat tomorrow’s game like a preseason game. It appears to have zero impact on their potential seeding. No matter what they have to beat the Vikings next week.

KC_Connection 12-29-2024 06:07 PM

Darnold is seemingly trying to give this game away with these throws

Bizarre circumstance for the Lions. None of the wildcards are even close to them, so it’s almost certainly the 5 or 1 for them.

JC, stop trying to change the subject. Love has all the advantages here. He has a top-10 team, a top-10 HC/OC, he's had 4 years in the system with said coaches, system and teammates. He may have more potential, but in reality, he's just not as good as Darnold in 2024, by nearly every metric imaginable.

jerryaldini 12-29-2024 06:13 PM

Lions win the division with a win next week regardless. Assuming Minnesota hangs on (getting tight!), they lose the Division if they lose - tomorrow's game has.no impact unless Minnesota loses somehow today.

It will be a 2 way tie - cant be 3 way tie.

The Lions would win tiebreaker over Eagles with better conference record. So... you're correct, tomorrow's game doesn't matter, UNLESS Vikings blow today's game.

Yep. I was going to point out that those numbers show Darnold to be a better passer.

It's a dumb stat because it gives too much weight to running QBs and sacks.

Burrow blows everyone out of the water on the passing metrics but gets hugely dinged in the sack which brings his total score down significantly.
