If you pay attention to what the Chiefs like you can get a pretty good read on the players they'll go for.
I called Wanya Morris. |
Congrats u2, but I think if the Chiefs were successful in trading up for a player they really wanted in the first round (::cough:: Harrison) we'd be looking at your other mock draft(s) for a player ;)

I called McDuffie and Nick Bolton when the Chiefs were on the clock. So I'm cool too.
I also called Metcalf and George Pickens over Hardman and Skyy. Skyy has time to prove Veach right but Hardman over Metcalf debate would have been solved quickly had Mahomes been able to have one throwing session with them. We corrected that this year, Rice is our guy, he's coming for Jerry. |
I called Breeland Speaks. Let that be a lesson to you all.

Such a great pickup. You guys are going to love him, I promise. |

He typically plays with good leverage/pad level inside. But on the instances that he ends up going outside, he seems to lose it. I don't know what would cause that other than just a bad habit. When he's going inside, he seems to recognize that he's gonna have to be the low man because he's entering the valley of the giants and he ain't that. But it looks like he can be stood up a bit when he goes outside. Maybe he's just a little too eager because he thinks he has a chance to eat and maybe avoid a little contact for a play or two? Because he'll need to get some dip in there if he's really going to bend the edge against quality OTs. |

There just weren't many opportunities for him to rush from a wide 9, but when he did, he showed that bend. |

I watched them quite a bit last season and he's a really good, disruptive player with tons of upside in my opinion. |
Before we drafted King Felix, did anyone else know that if you sack the QB, and he fumbles the ball, and the ball goes beyond the line of scrimmage, its no longer a sack?
That just sounds stupid to me. A sack should be a sack no matter where the ball ends up after a fumble. I do not understand this rule. |
I will take those strip sacks all day long..It does suck he didnt get the record because he did too much

Athleticism and hand usage. He's way ahead of where Karlaftis was this time last year

If you don't see the potential here, you're a ****ing moron.

I think he's already a more polished player thank Karlaftis was late in the year.
|
This is the hammer, Karlaftis is the anvil. They will beat quarterbacks between them for the next 10 years.
|
I just really like this pick the more I watch this guy. The athleticism and the bend showing up already.
I've got an idea of who he reminds me of, but I'll get ran out of here. |
Just remember folks, he's just 21 years old.
He's a little light on setting the edge on run plays (for now) but that can be corrected once he gets into the NFL S&C. But his pass rush moves are advanced for his age. Once the package all comes together, he may be a special player. |
He reminds me alot of TJ Watt coming into the league. There I said it.

Yeah, that was an encouraging game. As much as anything, I was happy that he just looked thicker than I expected.
Clearly he's not a finished product, but he's a guy who can play right this very minute and produce. He'll be better than Frank Clark was, I have no doubt about that. Hell, I could see him being better than Karlaftis, and I like Furious George. |

The first snap in which i remembered to watch him was ugly.
But it may have been the only ugly snap i saw of his because as i continued to watch i became impressed with his bend and get off. He's off to a good start. |
Highest graded rookie pass rusher goes to King Felix

He seemed to be in the backfield a lot. I think he may end up being a good one.
|
As a pure pass rusher i think he's going to be better than Karlaftis
|
For someone that missed everything before TC, he looked damn good.
|
He's Jason Taylor, Jared Allen, and Julius Peppers all wrapped up into one awesome football player who happens to play for my favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Man, who downvotes saying "he could be a better pass-rusher than Karlaftis" - it's not a dunk on Karlaftis you dimwit.
|
Tools were evident on Saturday. I think he's going to be a good player and a nice complement to the whole package.
By the end of the year, running out Anudike-Uzomah, Omenihu, Jones, and Karlaftis should be a pretty effective pass rush package. |

Typically that doesn't surface until AFTER someone gets paid... |

31. Felix Anudike-Uzomah, EDGE, Chiefs Grade: A FAU played fast and bendy as a rusher in his NFL preseason debut against the Saints. He had a win a pure outside rush, was quick to flash an inside counter to beat a blocker and demonstrated his patented hustle on his third pressure. It really looked like he was playing at Kansas State again. |
Felix the Cat and Furious George are going to be a great duo.
|
I ****ing love this god damn pick. We haven’t had a true two sided pass rush since Hali and Houston. Unless you count that half season where dee ford was ok.

Box jumper never deserved that nickname. |
I'm still hoping the nickname "F.U." catches on.

This quote from his nfl.com draft profile fits well:
Quote:
I think Karlaftis is pretty capped at what he can do. A lot of what he does is his work ethic, but FAU has him beat technically and athletically. It's not a slight on George either bc I think his work with Tamba will really help him this year. Just seems weird that people think the DL is horrific without Jones. Yes Jones is elite but there is talent there around him. |

I mean technically everyone is capped with what they can do so I don't really understand that one.
|
I like Felix a lot. He even signed my wife's jersey after practice last week. He really seems like a good dude. Watching in practice, he needs to get off the ball a little quicker. When he gets started on time he does some good things. I have a lot of hope for his future.
|
I like his moves in that clip but his get off was kind of slow. I'm hoping that will be something that improves throughout the season.
