Don't quote me, but I think the only "sport" women outperform men is something like long-distance swimming or some shit.

Women just have higher body fat percentages than men as a rule. That's going to make them a little more buoyant. Probably not enough to matter over any relatively short period of time (not enough to offset the difference in raw power anyway) but it would seem over distance that starts to show up. Interesting. It does look like marathon swims, especially the open water ones, favor women. |

It really doesn’t matter if men are better than women in a sport paywise. What matters is what they pull in.
The men’s soccer team deserves more. However it’s not as cut and dry since uswnt do pull their weight. Not just in gate revenue but they basically created a whole category of sponsorships that Nike etc has rained with money. It’s not because it’s a better product but for many women it’s a more relatable product. So both things can be true at the same time. That equal pay is a ludicrous idea but fair pay is fair to question and with any CBA I trust that players are telling the truth way more than the administrators who don’t open their books. |

This thread is seriously lacking in female athletes.

There’s plenty of shady shit here. They had a good case to fight for more money as with any CBA. Unlike the wnba they age a good case because they are actually worth a lot. They shot for the moon and used every angle to get it. I don’t agree with the outcome but I get why they were upset. |

LMAO What's the big deal? Clark got a pretty hefty taste of her own medicine. Oh noes.
Edit: oh shit LMAO. Just glancing through the thread and I'm seeing a lot of spicy takes. |

LMAO Dave Portnoy is an awesome heel.

It says so much for the country that he is now nearly universally revered. How far we've come in 60 years. Man he was awesome. Funny as hell too. I promise it's worth four minutes to watch this interview of him talking about whiteness back in 1971. https://m.facebook.com/happymagtv/vi...9520868082804/ |

If their sport was more entertaining it would generate more revenue. Simple as that

anything with "equity" as a related buzzword, someone is profiting off, just not the people they're trying to make more "equitable" |

Like any athlete in a CBA they tried to squeeze as much juice out as they can. But this isn’t nearly the same as something worthless trying to hustle money. |

You can’t blame them for trying. Every union takes advantage of leverage during a CBA negotiation. And the USMNT bombing the World Cup a few years ago and not pulling their weight gave them a bargaining chip. The Us soccer federation brought a lot of this shit on themselves and you can’t blame the women for being upset that their revenues were being thrown into this general pool that turned into an MLS grift. In the end they got equal pay but I don’t think the men give a shit because they’re making a shitload overseas and USMNT gives them opps to bank on a shitload of sponsorships. |

Now it's a race issue? JFC. I'm out on this discussion. You can't get more reeruned than that.

Refused to read it. now Jill Biden wants to invite LSU AND IOWA to the WH. This is just not going to die and be a cluster extraordinaire |

LMAO... lots of boomers in this thread who have never watched a minute of women's college basketball with some really strangely opinionated posts up in here...

Angel Reese not interested in Jill Biden's pitch to invite Iowa to White House alongside LSU |

I think Bill is on to something here.
https://www.msn.com/en-za/sports/nba...te/ar-AA19rIlo "I never thought the next Curry would be a woman," Simmons said about Clark on his podcast. "We knew there would be the sons of Curry, right? We knew those were coming, all the kids who grew up as his career started to take off in 2013, and he started to change how we thought of basketball, what we thought a good shot was, how he used teammates in these little slightly different ways, coming off picks, little hand-offs, things like that. And it's interesting how much she reminds me of Curry... Honestly, I think she has the chance to be the biggest female athlete down the road." |

So this is a full blown race issue now.
We're not a serious country. |

I love you, but you're not serious people. |

There's a host of issues that could have led you to that before now. |

The girl followed Clark around for 15 seconds taunting her after the most watched women's game in years (I'm guessing). That's going to be discussed, and there's going to be criticism. It's not about race, even if it is for a very small minority. |

Quote:
What I can't agree with is that there isn't a racial issue here at all. ****...look at some of the people in this thread. If Clark was the one who did it...it would be cheered. Is everything a racial issue? No but on the flip side...you can't claim that it's completely devoid of it either. And then you've got idiots like MarkDavis'shairyballsack who are pissed off because nobody "plays with class" anymore. His reeruned ass can sit the **** down. |

But take a look at how this thread went. It was about Clark and how awesome she was playing....until they played LSU. Then you had guys complaining that the refs were ****ing them over because they were minorities and Iowa had all white players. |

It's not a race issue. Angel isn't some victim, that's the narrative I'm seeing now, and it's ridiculous. |

Is what she did over the top? Yes. But do you know the one person you don't hear complaining about it? Clark. She talked shit and lost. She accepted it and moved on. I'm sure she was pissed about it but I hardly think that she's giving this as much thought as the rest of America. |
Quote:

Quote:
The criticism is fair. She's not a victim. Also, something tells me that if this were the other way around and many blacks people were complaining about Clark's actions, you wouldn't accept this narrative so easily. |
Quote:
Where I'm a lot more bothered is the way dawn Staley threw bait and the media took it and somehow turned Clark into a cocky asshole and her supporters as racist hypocrites. She screamed racism because the Iowa coach complimented her team for being "bar fighters" meaning they play tough and scrappy. She then tried to parallel that to racist insults that I don't think were ever said. That's what Reese fed off of because it doesn't seem like Iowa was being disrespectful specifically to lsu. This is coming from someone who doesn't root for Iowa and is usually plenty supportive if diversity efforts. I thought Staley crossed the line and the media took the bait and unfairly dogpiled on Iowa. |
