Now keep in mind, I was all for the Smith trade. I was in the "two fumbled punts kept him from the Super Bowl" group. I saw the 1st half of the Colts playoff game as his spring board to franchise QB potential. But I have come to realize... a couple of years ago... that I was wrong. Alex is who he is. 3400 yards, 18 TD''s, 8 Int's. Game manager deluxe. Nothing more. Nothing less. |

Mahomes just killed it in the 2 min drill. Throws missile to Ross Travis, gets two nice catches from Spiller and scrambles for a TD in 1:04 |

It's nice reading updates about a QB prospect we drafted who we all know will for sure, start someday... it's different than getting excited about every nice throw Stanzi and Bray made in TC these past few years. |

Mahomes looked at home in the no-huddle. + arm and creativity required in that situation plays to his strengths 10:14 AM · Jul 29, 2017 |
Mahomes is going to have to look horrible to not win the backu up job. It's clear as day he's should win that job.

New Age Outlaws Pat Mahomes and Jehu Chesson almost just connected on a bomb in 11s. Collective gasp from fans. 7:48 AM · Jul 29, 2017 |

Two incomplete passes for Mahomes to start his seven-on-seven reps. Cleans it up on final rep, hitting a slant in stride. |
Matt Derrick @mattderrick
Patrick Mahomes only QB to win his 2-minute drill. Big hit to TE Ross Travis, 2 throws to CJ Spiller. Mahomes scramble for TD. |

· 2h Hogan Prep and Pitt State CB De'Vante Bausby running 2nd team on left side opposite Phillip Gaines. He's getting his shot. Remember this kid? Local kid who was in camp last year but got hurt. I hope he makes it. Would be a cool story |

Plus if Alex gets hurt we're screwed anyway. Maybe have Mahomes be the backup and if Alex gets hurt, sign a vet if he's not ready. |

YOU are likely better than Bray. They've kept him around because he was created in a lab drawn up by every football coach ever. They're in love with his "potential", not what they see out of him on the field. I fully expect Bray to be the #3 IF he even makes the team this year. And I say that as a guy that would rather see Mahomes sit and learn all year. |

It won't shock me if they go with Stave over Bray, unless Stave is somehow worse than Bray. If so, good grief. At that point, they should just sign Shaun Hill. |
It's glaringly obvious how much better Smith is than the other QB's in this video...

Mahomes reminded me of Russell Wilson during his two-minute drill. He's smooth. He had a couple of bad throws today but very, very impressive. He owned the third team.

Remember Alex leading TD drives in the first 3 preseason drives last year and people thought he would be awesome?

I remember everyone talking about how great of a camp Cassel had in 12. |

All he's saying is pump the brakes on all the hype... |
OC Nagy: Patrick's gone from screaming the play in the huddle in his first practice where the defense can hear him to looking off safeties

I'm looking forward to seeing Ross Travis in preseason. He spent a portion of the offseason here in LA, training with Glazer and Tony Gonzalez. Hopefully, he's progressed. |
Were gonna keep 4 TEs Kelce, Harris, Escobar, Travis

Escobar has been garbage in Dallas. |

If he can stay healthy and improve his blocking, he'll be a red zone target and a more reliable one than Demetrius Harris ever was. |

All I know is that someone needs to step up and be the #2 TE because having 3 broke dick backups doesn't help the team. |

Ginn is a fine example, hasn't improved his catching ability at all and the only thing keeping him around is elite speed. |

For the season, he had the highest drop rate of any player. I expect the Chiefs to part ways with him at some point in the near future, especially with his character issues surfacing. |
Zoomed in on the action here. Just very, very smooth with his dropback and delivery.
http://i.imgur.com/eVTcXbO.gif Nice ball placement here that allowed for YAC. http://i.imgur.com/frP4MYo.gif Avoided the rush and stayed in the pocket and found the open man here. Really nice stuff. http://i.imgur.com/fwCtCzk.gif Runs it in for the TD. Definitely felt like Wilson here. http://i.imgur.com/ua4co72.gif Four plays, 1:04, TD. #SEX |

I would most certainly hope that Alex would look great in practices that are conducted in shorts with no pads on. This is his 5th training camp with the Chiefs and 13th overall so he should know every detail about what's going on how to go through the drills.
This is the first time Mahomes has done this with people he just met. I don't expect any player in that situation to look like a veteran right off the bat. |
Quote:
7 on 7, then why can't the other QBs look as good against the lower order defenders? |
