Isn't a backup power supply just to keep it from having brownouts, not be a generator for your computer though

UPS for small electrical blips and outages. Short term.

Makes sense. It's good to have an alternate power source when you need it though. While other people were losing all their food after the hurricanes this past year, I stayed fairly comfortable and had power for my fridge and freezer

They may be cheaper at harbor freight, although the quality may not be that great.
