Hell of a catch by Worthy on play #4. Good sign.

Also for being such a shitty QB, on rewatch Mahomes made some pretty good plays.

During part of the first half it looked like the best Mahomes has been in awhile. Especially that drive with Worthy. They looked unstoppable and then stopped doing what was working.

If the OL is having a bad day, why aren’t they calling more plays to
get the ball out of Pats hands quickly?

Some of that is on Pat not taking the check down when it’s available. Holds the ball hoping to make a bigger play.

You mean the Von Miller facing felony DV charges for the last year, that has not been suspended a single game?

That was one of the most impressive drives I've ever seen. Thought oh NFL is ****ed now. Then the offense fell flat rest of the game for the most part.

I just hope that was a glimpse of what is to come.

Have the QB stay in the pocket.

That seems to be the idea however, Pat is so much better when the play breaks down and something different happens. I believe that teams have studied the Chiefs, their OL blocking schemes, routes and Pat's tendencies so they can set thing up to exploit weaknesses. The king always has a target on his back and when one arrow hits the mark, others are going to use the same pattern.

The Chiefs have to adjust instead of the league adjusting to them. The rest of the league knows the tendencies and something has to change.

The WR injuries has been brutal; having Rice would have made all the difference. The Bills played a lot of man coverage and took Kelce away; he's just not a man beater. Expect to see a lot more of this until the Chiefs prove they can go over the top consistently again.

That isn't true at all. He's the best at doing it, but he's always at his best when he stands in the pocket and hits his guys. He just never does it anymore.

I thought that one was for child molestation.

Idk man. Thuney is clearly better than Trey, especially in pass pro. We’ve had capable RG’s in Zach Fulton, LDT and even Wylie.

I think that money needs to go somewhere else. We could also draft a capable starting RG in rd 2 as well if truly needed.

Fulton was complete ass at RG. Pretty decent player at center, though

They'll adjust. They always do. We have a hiccup or two each season where we look pretty lousy but andy becomes a wizard in the post season. Bills should have saved it for the playoffs.

Watching that was awful but somehow it seemed even worse live.

Morris wasnt that bad in this game, he looked ok. The interior was getting destroyed.

A lot of times, including the last play of the game, they had 2 DL on one side of the OL crash hard and bull rush the G and T. They see Mahomes flushing out constantly. They crash the OL and flush Mahomes out the way they want and have a LB spy fly to that zone they force Mahomes to go to so he’s got instant pressure in his face.

This also cuts off half of the field. Chargers did this in week 2 and Mahomes struggled badly against it. Bills copied that from Harbaugh and I expect other teams to do the same.

Haven't read the entire thread and everyone's responses, but the great thing is all of this is on tape and understandable.

I'd like to think by time the playoffs get here, Andy, Nagy and Heck will have come up with a scheme to work around this and to counter it. There's still plenty of time to do something about it and get a good plan in place.

But 2 things (non-scheme based) need to change;

1. Pat needs to quit bailing pre-emptively

2. Interior O-Line needs to be better and play up to standard.

The tackles are what they are. We know that and we're just gonna have to scheme around it, mainly the left side as the biggest offender.

The Chiefs had almost 500 yards of offense against the Saints and nearly 400 against the Bucs.

They know what they need to do.

They just have to execute.

JPH83 11-20-2024 11:07 AM

I wouldn't pay Trey, he'll be too expensive. But the reason he'll be too expensive is...he's been pretty damn good. Not just "good value for the pick" but...good, certainly well above average.

Every year he's had a few games where he's been beaten like a drum, and a lot more where he's been very, very solid imo. If one of those games happens in the playoffs, yep, gonna be a problem. But there is no way he is a greater problem than the LT situation or Mahomes' flushing early.

Morris is not good. Kingsley is horrendous. If we can get SOMETHING to work at LT I think we're fine.
