I dunno. Angles and instincts at LB are similar to accuracy issues for a QB. I don't know how much of that can really be "taught".

I'm assuming he woudln't be the pick at 32 and more likely a 2nd rounder? Or are we talking about him at 32?

But that also comes with experience that he simply doesn’t have. It would be one thing if he started for 3 years and those things were an issue, but this is a unique case. He’s shown the ability. He just needs to be more consistent and that will come with experience and NFL coaching.

I personally think a LB coach like House could turn this guy into a stud and get him close to his ceiling.

Possible. Frankly, we're all gonna have to come to the acceptance that this is the type of player you're gonna be drafting when you're picking as late as the Chiefs will be.

You aren't getting a blue chip dude in the late first. Just the way it is.

That's as impressive as a game film as you'll see from any LB, his angles need work no question but if you have faith in your coaching staff that shouldn't be an issue.

I've watched this one before, but I really don't know what you're seeing. The negatives far outweigh any of the few positives. Even in this one. I want consistency, not every once in while he'll guess right.

Exactly why I’m willing to slightly reach for a guy with ridiculous measurables. I feel the same way about Chinn, though he has better tape and isn’t as much of a reach (or as risky). If you want a top 15 talent at 32, it’s going to come with some risk. If you’re scared, draft a fatty.

If he had what you're asking for he's a top 15 pick without question, do you think at 32 any pick we make isn't going to have some question marks?

Like here's a good example, I like Patrick Queen also, go watch his game stuff. You see all the speed and fluidity and the way he drops into coverage is special for a guy his size..yet he is very blah in run fits, does not like dealing with blockers and basically goes around them all the time...

Is he a 5th round prospect that should play safety also?

I just don't care for the workout warrior stuff with certain guys, and he's so far off from being a natural football player that I don't think he's ever going to be anything special outside of a few plays occasionally. His weakness outweigh his positives. That's my issue with him.

No because Queen is actually a good football player, plus a good athlete.

I like David Long better at LB and he went in the 6th round last year.

MahiMike 04-10-2020 10:20 AM

I say it every year. Package picks to move up for the no brainer, 5 yr pro bowler.

I guarantee you I could find numerous people that would tell you Patrick Queen is a soft player and they would hate him for it, it's all about preference.

And frankly having big slow LBs is a defensive death sentence in today's game it's why speed numbers matter.

Hey this worked in 2017. But honestly I'm fine with not moving up obviously. Picking at 32 or later is fine for this team.

Some people also said Derrick Johnson was soft because he avoided contact and was more of a finesse style. And your 2nd sentence isn't relevant to this topic considering Queen is neither big or slow. My preference is a guy who understands his assignment and can read an offense.

I'll throw this out, I would be stunned if Swift makes it to our pick, could easily see the Dolphins using that last 1 on him as they have 0 at the position.

I don't like Wisconsin RBs so Taylor is out for me, they all seem to come out of college overworked and abused. However as a later round pick I like Quintez Cephus.

Swift is a 2nd round talent, maybe later even. So i wouldnt be surprised.

Brilliant idea when we still have numerous depth issues, only 5 picks, and no cap room.

See I don't think Swift is a 2nd round talent, I think his pure ability is quite a bit higher than the other RBs.
