I'm just showing you another cool car I want to have. Don't panic.

Nah. Start your threads but don't be surprised when they turn out the way you expected. You know what they say about the definition of insanity? Leaving isn't really going to solve all your problems. Changing your behaviors might.

I'm not really the panicky type.

Do you know why I chose that red car?

I can compartmentalize my feelings. I can lock horns with someone in DC and express agreement with or even rep them for a football post. Some posters take the political debates so far into personal hatred that they just HAVE to make stupid derogatory personal comments on football posts or social commentary. That's what hurts me. The intent, not the comments. It shows me how devolving is celebrated in this little corner of humanity. Case in point this very thread. I have been feeling bad about Boston and the 2nd man-killing earthquake in short order where I come from. So here I made an attempt at an emotional outlet for myself and for everybody else. For my effort the paranoid among you have rewarded me with accusations of "goat humping" and "button pushing."

Despite how a lot of posters here assume, I almost never post in anger, but I do sometimes post in disappointment. Disappointment in the devolving humanity. Words of disappointment are often easily construed as anger for your lack of clues from access to my facial expressions etc. If I allowed myself to be angry, and with my ticker, BELIEVE ME, I would have been 6 feet under by now. I am one of the original members of this forum and that's why I care for it. But I am very sad and disappointed in what it's allowed to be.

It would probably work better for you if you left off the last two paragraphs.

Where exactly in this thread was my behavior was the instigator of the shit? And how about the behavior of the the aforementioned crack-scratching neanderthals. You Phil by virtue of your position and the very stance that you are demonstrating are one of the enablers of the neanderthal behavior. Where does it exactly say that it's OK for a few to make a public forum uncomfortable for others? What, for example, have you done for the problem of one posters' avatar when I asked you as a friend to use your influence? I'm not naive. I do understand that the new internet crowd is made mostly of ball-less cowards and losers who feel safe behind their keyboards. I understand all that. But to blame me or anybody else for the actions of primates who now dominate this forum is beyond asinine. I would think a mod's job also includes making the environment reasonably enjoyable for all.

I didn't care enough to think about it, nor will I give it another second. I just liked the style and let it go at that.

Post 9. I'll let you in on a little secret (the same one that several others have shared with you over the years). You can expect just about any thread you post to include a reference to "breaking apart in midair" and most of them will probably touch on your mother too. You can either take blaise's good advice and roll with it, or you can react like you did in post 9 and encourage more of it.

Edit: But post 9 wasn't the end of it. Nearly every one of your posts since then has encouraged more of the same, including this one where you posture as a beacon of civility in a sea of primates and neanderthals.

A lot of you probably will disagree with me. But I always find this soothing. This is for the one's who agree:

I wonder if Rain Man will like this.

I'm not clamoring for people to abuse you, Frankie. I've tried. I go out of my way to help make it enjoyable for all. But you refuse to cooperate with leadership on this site by utilizing the tools we've provided you. If you put the offenders on ignore as has been suggested 1000x, it wouldn't be much fun for them to torment you because you couldn't see it. You could easily neutralize them but the truth is that you enjoy the attention and martyrdom too much. Moderators aren't going to be dragged into that dynamic constantly and that's why we've ignored it. I like flipping you shit and I enjoy that you'll play around in good nature. I do value your friendship, whatever that may be over the internet. But I can't rescue you from sharks every day when you continue to jump into shark infested waters to prove that you can stir them into a frenzy.
