Andy Reid has a track record of drafting and successfully developing QB's.

That should be the #1 criteria for hiring a new head coach... do you have a track record for drafting and developing a franchise QB.

doomy3 10-16-2012 10:25 PM

Definitely wouldn't mind Reid. He certainly seems to understand the concept of getting a top QB, and he does a good job of developing them. It would be fun to see what he could do with Geno Smith if we can get him.

Rausch 10-16-2012 10:25 PM

He wouldn't be my first choice but he'd be light years better than the last 3...

BossChief 10-16-2012 11:02 PM

I'm thinking Reid may well be my top choice after taking a little time thinking about the alternatives.

Seriously, it NEEDS to be a guy that almost overvalues the QB position and has a history of developing them.

Who else would be a better fit for that?

The inaccurate McNabb, went to a SB. Resurrected Michael Vicks career before he turned back into a pumpkin (injury prone & turns the ball over). Had us thinking we missed on Nick Foles for a bit there.

He does not run it enough. He has a long enough track record to see he doesn't usually have a good balance. Not just balance, but knowing when to protect one aspect with the other. Also, if he gets credit for controlling Vick, shouldn't he receive some of the blame for his struggles? The team isn't exactly playing to potential and hasn't for the past two seasons.

I don't hate the guy, but he wouldn't be my choice.

Who'd be your top choice and why would he be better than Reid?

What bugs you about Reid?

ClevelandBronco 10-16-2012 11:06 PM

I can't imagine why a coach with any other options would take a job with the Chiefs right now. The paycheck would have to be astronomical.

They are currently at a 56/44 split favoring the pass.

That's about as even as it gets in today's NFL.

He needs the balance of a strong GM who can say no when necessary but at the same time collaborate with him to build his team.

We don't have one and I'm not sold Clark is ready to get one...

Passing 56% of the time versus 44% in the run game.

Poor defenses.

Poor coaching hires.

Awful personnel decisions.

Czar-like attitude (personnel, coaching , etc.).

No thanks.
