I can promise everyone on this board that, if I ever find great success you'll never see me act the way he does. It's ridiculous. From crying about Buster Hymen threatening to beat him up, to R8ers calling him a pedophile...the man has some serious issues, and his conduct on this board makes that quite clear.

This message board has always been the wild west. Everyone's line as far as what is acceptable and what isn't is different. But community-wide the following seem to be acceptable:

1. assigning an untrue sexual orientation
2. indicating that someone would have sexual relations with their own mother or other family member
3. indicating that someone would have sexual relations with a different species
4. indicating that someone would have sexual relations with a dead person

Calling someone a pedophile is a worse than the above, but not greatly so.

In general, the insults of the types listed below do not materially damage the reputation of the person at which they are thrown because they are recognized as insults.

In a just system, rules are applied uniformly regardless of the popularity of the conflicted parties.

Dane is a good poster, and I will miss his contributions. But I don't think the mods acted incorrectly, given the community standards of this board.

Yeah, I tend to lean that way. Like I said, I agree that it's probably borderline, and I'd probably have done something about it had it gone on for more than a few pages of a thread. However, it's not like he was saying "I have a picture in my possession of Dane butt ****ing a little kid" or anything. No one seriously thought Dane was a pedophile.
