How often do you go skinny dipping in that pool BEP?

I have the 3 best tags in this thread. By far.

Meatloaf, Ashlie potatoes, green beans cooked in bacon grease and with bacon.
Wife left town for six days just me bubba and the puppy, she cooked all that at four this morning prior to leaving. I love her. |

The only meats I can think of that you should cook to medium-well to well done is poultry and most seafood. |
I'm a medium guy myself. I don't like the color of a medium rare steak. It usually has that thin strip of dark purple lol.

Dark purple is a poorly cooked medium rare. |

What's for dinner? Here's mine... (Part 2)
Disregard.

And I was just outside and saw I have some garlic scapes starting to form. Yay!

I'm drunk and burnt my hands.

Penance for posting that beet bullshit. |
You're mean. Just for that you get a kale one tommorrow.

When you make a kale smoothie, you have to add other things like fruits and some natural sweetener other than sugar to dress it up. Like honey for instance. That's my experience. I use frozen pineapple, frozen peaches and fresh grapes, water, a tbsp flax seeds, cold spring water sometime egg whites if I am looking for protein. Sometimes I use a little spinach too. I sweeten it with 2 packets of PureVia which is a Stevia based sweetener. I find those fruits go well and there's hardly a kale taste at all. |
Chili, still simmering, going on an hour and a half. That brings me to the question, how long do you simmer your chili? Too short, beans give me gas, too long turns to mush.
|
Try Beano before eating beans. You just need an enzyme to break it down.

I don't recall making jokes and saying "can't you take a joke". Certainly not recently. I've barely posted on this board in the past week. If someone is bothered by my posting, by all means, call me out on it. But making a comment about someone's work who isn't here is bullshit. You want to make that kind of point, maybe a PM is a better place for it. |
To all others: if I have made a joke at your expense, please let me know in a PM or rep (neg or pos, your choice), and I will make an attempt to make it right. My intent has never been to hurt someone's feelings.
|
I really am sorry FMB. I know how much pride youy take in the WORK you've put in to be the chef you are. I've just noticed over the years people post a time or two in this thread and are never seen again because they're made to feel lessor. The wife was a low blow, I shouldn't have gone there. It was a GREAT cake. I just wanted to show you that jokes are sometimes very hurtful and make people feel unworthy to showcase things they are proud of. Not everyone can be experts at cooking. It doesn't mean they can't take pride in an accomplishment. We should be encouraging IMO. Sometimes we aren't. You're more important to this thread than I, maybe I should just bounce. This thread needs you far more than me and my unrefined techniques.

It's true, FMB. You tend to tell some of us what we are doing wrong, sometimes appropriately and sometimes rudely. I've never taken any offense because cooking isn't a huge deal for me. It's not any different that Flop taking a shot at those hideous lines on that cake. I mean, they really are pretty bad. His joke was funny but it's not different than coming after some of the lesser cooks in this thread and telling them what they are doing wrong.
I've actually like Inmem in this thread because he'll post really simple meals like crockpot stuff that usually gets laughed at but that many of us full-time working folk really appreciate using. |

I don't want anyone to leave, certainly not you. If I've run someone off, then I do more harm than good. I genuinely can think of only one time when I bashed something. As I recall, the dish SOUNDED really good but looked awful, and I said as much. I've posted things that look like shit, too (recall the porterhouse/smashed banana fiasco). But maybe I don't remember because to me they were innocuous comments. I'll try to keep my comments in check. Targeting the wife's work set me off. I'm past it. We're still cool. |
And I want it clear, we can still rip the shit out of whatever BEP posts. I mean, come on, right?

We made burritos and Spanish rice after 2 hours in the pool. Wife started cooking and noticed how buzzed she was but did a fabulous job. I always fill my burritos too full, my wife tries to roll them (I'm dumb), they split, she yells at me, I then proceed to eat the burritos with a fork like a child.

My wife does this. Her spacial reasoning with tortilla to filling sucks. And she does it every single time. |

So even canned, you have to cook them not too long but not too short? Dunno, man. I put 'em in for 15 minutes at the end and am good to go. |
I made a baked potato in the microwave. **** you bep your cell phone is ringing.

Spaghetti with homemade sauce and meatballs. Outstanding.

I had a harebrained idea to wrap some chicken breasts in bacon and grill them. We had some bacon that needed used up and everything is better with bacon, right?
I seasoned the chicken with cumin, season salt, onion powder and garlic powder. Wife cooked up some baked potatoes and frozen veggies and we added a salad. Don't bash the playing. I suck. [img]http://m.imgur.com/Qj6pARe[/im Remarkably it turned out really well. I over seasoned mine, but wife said hers was good. The bacon wasn't too unevenly cooked and didn't get burned to a crisp. I failed to take into account how much extra food 3 strips of bacon is and made self miserable and didn't finish it all. I don't know if I will do it again. Not sure it was worth the hassle, but it was a good change up that ended up tasting far better than expected. |
