Farrell is a real fat ass, cut from the Jonathan Hankins cloth. Hope he becomes that kind of player.

If the Chiefs want 40 points they’ll get it. But I’m guessing they call the dogs off around 35 or 38 points.

Didn’t they move him to safety his last year and he wasn’t impressive? Junior year he looked much better at corner.

I might be remembering that wrong.

Yeah.

Which was what drove me absolutely nuts about the folks who, after his 2nd year in the league, were saying "We need to move him to Safety..."

Dude - he wasn't good at safety. That's why we got him where we got him. We moved him back to CB and he was IMMEDIATELY a starting caliber corner.

That had to be a BWillie special. I can't imagine anyone else had their heads that firmly up their asses. But I do think there was a group of folks pushing for it.

Kicker missed 2 FG's

To be fair so did Buffalo

The Chiefs are gonna baptize this team...I'm sorry.

It's such a good match up on both sides of the ball.

Yes but the Packers were the “worst” team still alive in the playoffs and were right at about double digit underdogs. Not all 3 pt victories are created equal.

My concerns about this game are that the Chiefs just don't score a ton of points this year, even against supposedly bad defenses. If we did score 30+ it would be pretty abnormal.

The other is Purdy's scrambling ability. He's shown the ability to extend plays similarly to Mahomes even after the play breaks down, and either run for a good chunk, or set his feet and find an open man. I dont think that can be discredited, and I hope Spags is 100% on top of it.

Other than that, I think we match up well against these guys. We have a good shot at winning this thing.

That's the thing - both the Lions and Packers left points on the field that could have changed those games.

Purdy generally doesn't scramble...people are talking about it because he ran twice against Detroit...against a defense that is incredibly slow..the Chiefs just contained Allen and Jackson and you're worried about Purdy?

pugsnotdrugs19 02-02-2024 11:34 AM

The Chiefs' defense had gave up one (1) single positive yardage QB scramble on blitzes the entire year entering Baltimore. I'm not sure Lamar even had one either.

Purdy scrambling is a non-starter for me.

Yeah, I don't think we gave enough credit to just how ungodly slow that Lions defense was. Slow to react and just flat slow to run.

The Detroit defense is Rookie level Madden sliders compared to the Chiefs being, at worst, All-Pro. And really this version of this defense is All-Madden.

We're running down Lamar Jackson in the open field, fellas. Our 'slow' linebacker in Nick Bolton runs a 4.6. This defense is NOT the Detroit defense or anything resembling it.

Purdy can probably pick up some first downs - he'll have to - but I don't think he's gonna pop off for 60+ yards rushing on the game.

After hearing so many Niner fans talk about how great Purdy plays I rewatched the Lions game last night. The Lions secondary did not play well for most of the game. Purdy should have had at least 3 interceptions. While Purdy's numbers have looked good this year, he takes a lot of risks. Our D-line should be getting plenty of pressure on the QB as well as batting balls down.

The Niners did run CMC up the middle more than I thought they would. And I don't think the Lions could miss any more tackles than they did that day.

So what if Buffalo made that FG? Does anyone really believe that with a minute and 40 some seconds and 2 timeouts that Mahomes would not have driven the Chiefs down for the winning score?

Extending the play for his 4 (or 5) pretty strong weapons to get open in the passing game. That's the challenge. Andy is pretty aware of it based on his recent comments in the media.
