Okay gang, as many of you know I still have friends at the highest

level in the Chiefs organization and have this info to share with full

confidence: Scott Pioli is the new GM. His announcement will come

Thursday or Friday at the latest. Clark and Scott are working out the

finer points of his contract tonight, but the deal is sealed. Also,

Clark informed Herm Edwards and his coaching staff that they will be

released. All assistants can reapply through Scott.



I only share this information because I'm no longer with the team and

it's fun to share that a new day is dawning at Arrowhead. Scott Pioli

will quickly move to clean out the front office and hire a new coach.

The only info I have on the new coach is it will not be Kirk Ferentz

from the Iowa Hawkeyes. Kirk coaches his son at Iowa and does not

want to leave until his son graduates. Mike Shanahan has contacted

Pioli, but I don't know any info beyond that.

Call me skeptical. They've kept this under such tight wraps, it's going to have to come from the Chiefs themselves before I get excited.

I'l take that little tidbit of information. I'd like to know how many posts that guy has on that board, though. I'm taking it with a grain of salt, but the guy does sound rather confident.

Petro just said it was bullshit as his show ended. He said that there are a few people who like to release bs info like this to yank the chains of the local media, trying to get them to run a bogus story.

(He also thinks Pioli will be hired, just that the 'story' is a load of crap).

even then there has to be a touch of doubt a slight concern that it's the organization as a whole that is cursed after so many years and not just the outgoing regime.

If this happens, it will be a fine first move by Clark Hunt. It definitely will be one that will have some sort of impact, good or bad, we don't know, on the Chiefs for quite some time.

I think no news is good news at this point. Pioli's name has dropped off the radar and hopefully, that's for good reason.

If this turns out to be true, then it means that Herm's incompetence is the best thing to happen to the Chiefs in 15 yrs.
