The Chiefs significantly upgraded at corner, got a decent draft pick, and cleared a bunch of cap space.

Alex Smith had his best year, but he’ll regress to the mean this upcoming year. Everyone focuses on what he did this last year, but they forget that is an outlier. Do you still think of Cam Newton the way you did in his MVP season? Or what about Matt Ryan in his? Or do you still think about Joe Flacco the way you did after he won the Super Bowl?

These average QBs have the occasion great season, then they regress to the mean.

So, Kendall Fuller will be 23 years old this upcoming season, AKA the normal age for a rookie. Awesome.

Also, we receive the 78th pick. For perspective, Fuller was the 84th pick in the 2016 draft.

This is a far worse trade than the KC-Niners-Smith deal. Not even comparable.

You can pretty much forget any idea of Washington backing out. Once they agreed to a contract with Smith, that becomes a lot less plausible.

Yep. Me and Tigger had the bet that if Smith was on/off the roster by the start of 2018, the other was banned for 3 months.
