There is only 30 jobs out there. This one isn't that bad. You get this franchise back to the playoffs you will have Carl Peterson type job security.

We were good the year of the strike and I remember George's 3000 hit. The rest not so good.

They were actually good in 89. Would have made the playoffs in today's playoff format.

But whatever, they have truly, completely sucked for 20 years.

It was easy when it was my parents' tickets. Now, I have to decide if I want to actually pay to see this pile of shit team. Concessions are absurd, which isn't unique to KC, but it only makes it harder to want to see this awful product.

I blame sports radio 810. It's all their fault. Had they not pushed the issue of demoting Moose, and had let Hosmer and CRYson into the watch party this team would be on a winning streak. They were mean to our players and forced their agenda and we should all goes in lockstep and boycott KK and Clinkscale.

And today our **** ing manager decries the "leadership void" in the clubhouse. Yost is now officially fired in my book.

810 and social media! Destroying their psyches!

Random thought:

Maybe a leadership void exists because everyone player that has come through Dayton Moore's system has been coddled and praised, even if they don't deserve it, creating a sense of entitlement?

I mean, even a marginal player like Jarrod Dyson seems to think his shit doesn't stink. WTF?

RockChalk 05-29-2014 09:29 AM

With the exception of a few, I hate this entire group of players. I'd make every single player available, except for Perez and get rid of whoever you can.

Give Gordon a chance to go play out the prime part of his career for a winner. Give Shields up for some good prospects. If you can get a good haul for Holland, trade him too. Give Butler and Dyson up to whatever GM is dumb enough to trade for them.

It's time to blow this thing up and start again. Pretty much ever single player Dayton has drafted or traded for, prospect-wise, is a prima-donna cry baby whiny bitch and I'm sick and tired of even caring about them anymore.

WilliamTheIrish 05-29-2014 09:36 AM

Since our "Philadelphia like" media began trashing our fine lads we have gone 3-7.

It's all their fault Duncan.

I'm in agreement here. But before that happens the GM has to be gone. Leaving DM in charge of that is like leaving a baby alone in bathwater.

In my get rid of everyone scenario, DM and Ned were long gone.

I wouldn't trust DM to trade any single player on our team. I reached my end point with him a while back when he stated that Wade Davis was the real key to the Myers trade.

gblowfish 05-29-2014 10:24 AM

Suck it up, pussies. We're just a few games under .500. Things could be worse. Frenchy. Emil Brown. Chris Getz. John Buck. Joey Gaithright. Humberto Quintero.

Take the pain. TAKE IT!!!

Oh, and Nori Aoki swinging at a ball he should have taken off his shoulder for a free base...

Sure-Oz 05-29-2014 10:25 AM

Steven St John was going off about dyson this morning thinking he can tell other players to not talk to the media. Making fun of him saying we don't care to talk to you. What to talk about a worthless stolen base in the late innings

Sure-Oz 05-29-2014 10:26 AM

This team except a few guys on offense and the pitchers are unlikable. I'm not a fan of Hosmer or Moose/ Dyson w/ their immature shit. How about be a good player

Aoki, being Royal.

gblowfish 05-29-2014 11:37 AM

So, Moose has been in Omaha for a week. How's he doin?

He's much better in Omaha. His batting average is up by fifty points!

He's hitting a zesty .217 with one double and one homer and one RBI (his homer). He's walked three times and K'ed four times.

His club is 26-26 and two games off the lead in the PCL.

Tonight Omaha starts a guy named Verdugo vs. OKC. Verdugo is 0-1 with a 27.00 ERA.

Yeah baby....

I was fine with the Aoki get too, but that was on the basis that he would get on base (aka not strike out) be fast and be able to score runs, even if his D wasn't great. He is on pace for 80 strikeouts right now (last year he had 40 and the year before that he had 55). Point being, we did not get the advertised guy. My question is how does a guy that has been a solid OBP guy for his career suddenly start striking out all the time. Does our system f up guys that quickly, geez?

As the story goes, CRYson, Hosmer and some other non descript, light hitting player showed up at the 810 Zone at Harrah to watch the Mayfield fight. The place had been packed since 7pm. Fight was around 11pm.
They weren't allowed in. As revenge for that "snub" Dyson, Hosmer and others encouraged other players (Danny Valencia- who had a big hit the previous night) to boycott talking to 810.
That took about 20 seconds to hit Twitter and reveal the players as ridiculously soft and petulant, much like their manager and GM, who the previous day had a hissy fit because the press continued to ask the age old question: "Why is Poostakous not being sent down?
And he wanted to talk about the pitching.

The result of that is the Royals have gone 3-7 since showing their collective asses to the world.

As an outsider it's hard for me to comment on how much of the issues with your prospects are related to a culture of coddling. I can say this: in the last ten years the Cardinals' three most hyped prospects were Colby Rasmus, Shelby Miller, and Oscar Taveras. Rasmus and Miller both had severe entitlement, maturity, and coachability issues, and Taveras has had maturity issues.

I wonder if a lot of it stems from the nature of the prospects themselves. A prodigy that comes along with the right mindset, like a Michael Wacha and Wil Myers (not to twist the knife), is pretty rare.

That said, I do wonder about the development system the Royals have in place.

The Royals seem to support this kind of crap. Goldberg goes to an in-game interview with Dyson about once a week it seems like. And Dyson acts like the complete douche/jackass he is the entire time. Also doesn't help that Joel, Ryan, Hud, Phys...they all just eat it up, laughing.

Say Shane Robinson and Matt Adams or Allen Craig went to a bar owned by a sports radio station out of St. Louis - I think KTRS is one. It was crowded because of MMA fight, over capacity so they don't let them in. Thus they now won't grant an interview to KTRS. Then try to get other teammates to join them all in the middle of a losing streak. All while Robinson is trying to be the asshole in the whole thing when he is just the late innings base runner.

Yeah that year they could have been dangerous. The Expos got screwed that year if I remember corrextly.

And another thing: Has Sveum been standing there all season watching the Royals bat and thinking, "I know what we're doing wrong, it's so obvious ..."? And he, what, didn't say anything to Ned or Pedro? Or he did, and they ignored him? Or he finally spoke out yesterday, and the team said, "You know, you're right. You're the new hitting coach"?

Let's be honest, with the exception of a few, the team generally seems like a bunch of assholes. At least in interviews, anyways.

Heh.....yeah, stuff like:

"Hey Butler....hit something besides a one hopper to short, fat ass..."

or...

"Hey Hosmer, you know it IS within the rules to hit a ball over the fence, FAIR."

or....

"Hey Moose, clean out your locker. You win a fun filled summer in Nebraska."
