I blame sports radio 810. It's all their fault. Had they not pushed the issue of demoting Moose, and had let Hosmer and CRYson into the watch party this team would be on a winning streak. They were mean to our players and forced their agenda and we should all goes in lockstep and boycott KK and Clinkscale.

He's much better in Omaha. His batting average is up by fifty points!

He's hitting a zesty .217 with one double and one homer and one RBI (his homer). He's walked three times and K'ed four times.

His club is 26-26 and two games off the lead in the PCL.

Tonight Omaha starts a guy named Verdugo vs. OKC. Verdugo is 0-1 with a 27.00 ERA.

I was fine with the Aoki get too, but that was on the basis that he would get on base (aka not strike out) be fast and be able to score runs, even if his D wasn't great. He is on pace for 80 strikeouts right now (last year he had 40 and the year before that he had 55). Point being, we did not get the advertised guy. My question is how does a guy that has been a solid OBP guy for his career suddenly start striking out all the time. Does our system f up guys that quickly, geez?

As the story goes, CRYson, Hosmer and some other non descript, light hitting player showed up at the 810 Zone at Harrah to watch the Mayfield fight. The place had been packed since 7pm. Fight was around 11pm.
They weren't allowed in. As revenge for that "snub" Dyson, Hosmer and others encouraged other players (Danny Valencia- who had a big hit the previous night) to boycott talking to 810.
That took about 20 seconds to hit Twitter and reveal the players as ridiculously soft and petulant, much like their manager and GM, who the previous day had a hissy fit because the press continued to ask the age old question: "Why is Poostakous not being sent down?
And he wanted to talk about the pitching.

The result of that is the Royals have gone 3-7 since showing their collective asses to the world.

Aoki is Dyson, except he speaks Japanese instead of Mississippi. You can knock the bat out of either guy's hand.

Death by stoning with Aoki as his only defense.

As an outsider it's hard for me to comment on how much of the issues with your prospects are related to a culture of coddling. I can say this: in the last ten years the Cardinals' three most hyped prospects were Colby Rasmus, Shelby Miller, and Oscar Taveras. Rasmus and Miller both had severe entitlement, maturity, and coachability issues, and Taveras has had maturity issues.

I wonder if a lot of it stems from the nature of the prospects themselves. A prodigy that comes along with the right mindset, like a Michael Wacha and Wil Myers (not to twist the knife), is pretty rare.

That said, I do wonder about the development system the Royals have in place.

Strike Year we were starting to gel when the strike hit. Appier, Cone, Gubs, and Flash Gordon would have been a nasty pitching rotation going into the playoffs.

WTF is a catching instructor? Do other teams have in-season, full-time staff catching instructors? I've only heard of that stuff during spring training.

Then try to get other teammates to join them all in the middle of a losing streak. All while Robinson is trying to be the asshole in the whole thing when he is just the late innings base runner.
