What's he going to be like when the Bears are 1-7 and in desperate need of a win streak to keep any hopes of the playoffs alive?

If you're too occupied feeling bad for yourself then you're not focused on doing the things you should be doing to win.

Mentality is real and it affects performance on the field. And his teammates aren't going to respect their leader moping around feeling sorry for himself.

That's why I brought up Moore clearly getting pissed. I've never seen a vet so visibly frustrated with their rookie QB so soon, and Moore is far from the diva type. Can't help but wonder what his teammates think about him so far.

He’s so Gen Z! I’m sure his teammates won’t mind him taking a mental health half off here and there. Ugh life can be tough sometimes and you just need to zone out ya know?

They elected him as their team captain.

I'm aware, but I'm not convinced that's not a role he was given due to his status as a QB and high level prospect, as opposed to something he earned. I also wouldn't put it past the Bears to force/push that given the narratives surrounding Caleb.

I'm not even a Caleb hater. I've been defending the guy on the field and as a prospect up until now. The truth is I expected much better, and I'd be a little worried if I were a Bears fan.

Obviously players "want" their QB to be a team leader. Just seemed like a mistake to bestow that honor without it being first earned. Maybe the other players should see it as their job to lead the team this year while Caleb adjusts to the NFL. Broncos did the same thing. Trying to prop somebody up artificially rather than having them first earn respect on the field.

All I know is...even the wild rookie version of Patrick Mahomes would have given his receiver a better chance on that final throw for the Bears last night. Romo said it yesterday, Mahomes will always give his receiver a chance to make a play on 4th down. Even when it looks hopeless, like his body horizontal to the ground and he somehow throws an accurate ball 30 yards downfield.

I think if they are 1-7, they will not be in the need of a win streak. It will be in the need of getting the best OL guy in the draft. OL's have a lot to do with how a rookie looks and it is one thing to let a rookie gain experience and learn by playing but if your not giving him a least some time in the pocket it really is not a productive learining experience. At some point they may need to sit him if they can not protect him and figure out things up front.

When you look around the league, he's not really dealing with anything different from anyone else.

Every team has pass rushers and every team seems to struggle to give their QB a few seconds to throw.

No one is talking about Stroud's Oline and there were plenty of times last night where the DL was all over him the moment the ball was snapped.

I don't even care for this kid, but I'm not a big fan of the NFL blasting that out there like that. Good on Stroud, but twinkle toes didn't want to hear it and putting it out there like that is not going to help him grow and mature. It'd be different if some troll account dropped it, but the actual NFL account doing it just seems odd.

..... now back to shitting on this kid, because bears.

That is definitely weird.

But I’m glad it’s out there. That’s just really bad on Caleb. It’s one thing to be frustrated or tired or pissed off. That was the look of entitlement and stroud, the good guy, looked stunned that Caleb was being dismissive.

The kid will probably figure things out but his entitlement just keeps throwing red flag after red flag
