Published on Jan 21, 2013 Terror in our Toyota! Sure looks like the Electronic Throttle Control got stuck, huh? Another case of "UNINTENDED ACCELERATION?" She was only able to control the car with the PRNDL - 3 teenage girls in the car and just pulling into a neighbor's driveway to pick-up during carpool! This could happen to you! The car was totalled, the home has sever damage, and a car inside the home was totaled out and another damaged. Toyota's response: "...no evidence of any sort of manufacturing or design defect..." You look at this video and decide for yourself! |

I think we've found the answer. |
About the time I hit the house the first time and see the engine is still revving is when I put it in neutral and turn it off..... But that looked way more fun.
|
So, the unintended acceleration is why she was going 2 mph before she got to the driveway? She also stopped several times, so I don't think the throttle was stuck.
Personally, I think it was a combination of inexperience, panic and a cell phone. |
Unintended acceleration that they just happened to catch on video? They always video a car arriving to pick up someone for carpool? Or they just happened to this time and by coincidence this is when the accelerator stuck? Smells like BS to me.
