Wow, two upsets tonight.

Pena put Nunez in the baby stroller

WhawhaWhat 12-12-2021 12:14 AM

Pena's jab was killing Nunes every time she tried to throw a power punch. No idea why she didn't try to take it back down to the ground in the 2nd after her stand up was getting beat. Nunes was just taking punch after punch.

Aside from power, how was Poirier a favorite?

Edit: I acknowledge he was the favorite by many experts...I just don't understand why? Was it the wins over Connor?

I don't blame you, because it was a huge upset. But this win may be the best example of an underdog saying watch this, and then backing it up.

She called her shot, man.

Amanda didn’t look right…usually her punches are fast, crisp and straight. tonight they were slow and loopy

Power as you said, better boxing, better durability, better endurance, and while his grappling is lesser than Oliveira's, he's no slouch and has a bjj black belt so the idea was he could withstand everything Oliveira could throw at him and dish it out harder and for longer.

Probably because her head got a little loopy.

Never go full Cody Garbrandt.

Wasn't Rousey like -1200 or some shit against Holm?

That first round in Poirer v Oliveira was ****ing insane. Maybe the most exciting round I have ever seen.

If you listen to Pena's post fight interview it sounds like Nunes wasnt training. Crazy at this level but I think she had became complacent with her streak.

I believe she had COVID pretty bad over the summer so maybe she's still feeling affects from that.

Aside from being excited for the fights this weekend, I ran into Julian Marquez at Costco in Independence a couple weeks ago. He was with someone and a kid so I didn't bug him but did talk for a minute. Seemed like a cool guy. Trains and fights out of Kansas City.

I'm pumped for Lewis/Tuivasa tonight
