Like our chances pitching wise the next 2 with Shields and Vargas. Figured Duffy would be in some trouble against the Angels lineup and CJ Wilson on the mound.

I'm torn with how I feel. We should be playing better and the offense is atrocious. However, we are still around .500 and I have no idea how we've managed to win that many. If we could even get two guys in the lineup hitting, we could string some wins together.

It's a weird feeling. We have a better record than how we are playing but we are playing horrible.

Pythagorean stats have us at the same record that we do.

I just looked up Brett Hayes. He's 0-26 with no walks. Is that good?

I mentioned that's he quite possibly worse than Moose.

But, Hayes can block balls behind the plate really well! oh wait....

I think it has been more than a literal week since the Royals have hit one out. That is so unbelievably embarrassing for a major league team. Even National League teams are laughing at our lack of pop in this lineup.

We were 14th, 11th, 13th, and 13th in the American League home runs during his time in Kansas City. Its the guys in the uniform not the hitting coach why they don't hit homeruns.

Essentially for the Royals offense it really boils down to why hasn't Hosmer developed power? Butler is having a lack luster year also doesn't help but he is pretty much always been a 15 to 20 a year home run guy. The rest of the team is pretty much gravy even though you would like to see Perez or Gordo hit a few more out.

Like I said yesterday quirks of the ballparks hurt, Angels hit one out down the left field line, then in the 9th Perez belted the one to right center that would have been out but hit the scoreboard which was a double then.

The Royals I think are 5 or 6 in the AL in doubles. So I don't think hitting the gaps is the problem.

And yet the reason given for his dismissal was not enough home runs hit. Have we improved or regressed in the category since he was termed? Have the Jays improved or regressed since his arrival?
