Foxtail McBitchTits reported last year on/around August 1st.

This holdout feels different.

Just read on MSN that Veach says they have agreed to an extension with Chris Jones but no link /article or terms to confirm it

From Kristen Wong , Fansided not sure how trusted that is lol, from yesterday so it’s probably bullshit

In the latest update out of Chiefs camp, general manager Brett Veach delivered the words every fan wanted to hear. Well, other than: “We have agreed to an extension with Chris Jones.”

Both Toney and running back Isiah Pacheco are reportedly on track to play in Week 1.

Cant blame him for wanting every dime he can get and mega deals take time to structure properly.

It takes me back to Clark Hunts comments a couple months back about deciding if they will offer CJ95 an extension. I wonder if they made an offer and he turned it down and they are still negotiating…or if they decided to not offer him a contract.

It’s possible the plan during the last extension was to walk away at 30 years old…but if that is/was the case, they sure didn’t seem to plan accordingly.

It makes little sense to trade him now and basically have a full season without his on field value or draft return value available this season.

They didn't trade him before the draft because they had no idea he was going to hold out and be such a bitch about his contract extension.

There is no deadline. Jones is under contract, that's why he will most likely report by Sunday. He has no real leverage from a financial standpoint. If he holds out he will never recoup the money he lost and if he doesn't report before games, including Sunday's preseason game, the real fines start at over $1 million a game. He is crazy not to take the $65+ mil money the Chiefs are most likely offering. This is why he will report by Sunday.

So you don't think they knew the # then? If so, that's.....not very well thought thru.

They knew what he would most likely end up signing for and are fine with it. Jones is not getting $29m+ a year, again, he has little to no leverage. While his holdout would hurt the Chiefs, it would be a disastrous decision for Jones financially. So there are two options: 1. he plays this year under the current contract and the Chiefs can decide to tag or trade next year, and they restructure another players contract to free up some marginal cap space. 2. Jones signs an extension. I'm fine with either.

I'm not sure what the Chiefs could get for a 30 year old Chris Jones even if he had a great year.

Maybe a second rounder?

I agree. Which is why trading him now makes no sense. They knew his numbers before the draft.
