Well, think about it, when you jump you're immediately on a predictable path downwards and you become a very easy target for anyone who has decent aim. The reason I disliked Halo 3 is the possible gun imbalance and there's too much initiative and momentum involved in the matches.

In COD4, you customize your kit to what you want and roll with that so you always have a chance no matter what the other player is packing. If Halo 3 followed that formula, it would be the best shooter to date.
