Any normal GM / manager combo would have nipped this shit in the bud.

Why do you give even the slightest damn about 810? They aren't the radio rights holder so they don't have some kind of holy right to interviews.

If the players don't want to talk to 810 for any reason at all, doesn't even have to be a good one, fine I don't care. 810 can keep whining about it if they want, they aren't the New York Times.

Because 810 isn't the god damn problem, al. It's a convenient excuse to blame a media outlet when the players (and the GM and the manager) are being galactic pussies.

As 'penz wrote a few posts back: hit a few HR's, go on a winning streak and all this is forgotten. Until then, stand in there, field the questions, and move on. You know... Be a professional. FF's sake, you're getting paid like one.

If they'd kept Boni, then you have a viable backup in case Cain is injured again. Without him, they have no real MLB ready insurance in CF. And you have to carry that considering how oft-injured Cain has been.

I'm assuming Dyson is out of options?

I think the timing of this might be a great wake up call for Moose. He ends up having to lug his ass up I-29 to Omaha, while the rest of the team heads back to SoCal (His home stomping grounds) without him. So he misses out on going home and playing in front of his friends and family, because he played his way off the big club. That's got to sting, and hopefully that will get his attention and make him work harder to earn his spot in the majors. He's been coasting on his draft position for most of the last two years.

WTI and duncan have more HRs in the last two pages than Moose does all year.

Tigers losing big again today.
Tigers down 5-0 to the rangers.. with Darvish on the mound.

Well shit, I didn't even realize that the Royals were going to be in Crapaheim this weekend.

I guess Moose doesn't have to worry about a ticket problem back home.

Shhh. The season is over.

Also, the Tigers have three more after today with Texas and then four with Oakland. They could easily lose 5 games in that stretch. Whereas our next 6 games are with Anaheim and Houston. Not too much of a stretch to see us win 4 of those games.

Ear-biting aside, it would be nice if the Royals had a veteran player willing to stand up to some of these young assholes who have been handed everything and earned very little.

That's what I've said all year. My hope is that they can go on a run and finish enough above .500 to catch the Tigers, or snag a wildcard spot.

I'd still like to see a move that brings a power bat to our lineup...

It has potential to be better thsn that. Most of the guys are well off pace of where you would expect them to be offensively. Aoki , Hos, Butler, Gordon....a huge hole at 3rd that finally got filled.

Agreed, but I think the pitching will drop off, at least to some degree.

It will be on the offense to help balance things out, if and when that happens.

I think the pen holds up and Shieds, Vargas, and Gutherie prettu much are what they are. The key is Ventura and Duffy taking a step up. They are the wildcards.

This has been discussed before. The Royals have had several power bats over the past few decades.

Bo Jackson, Tartabull, Gaetti, Dean Palmer, Jeff King, Sweeney, Beltran, and even Butler a few years ago.

Even The guys we have now, should be hitting for more power, but for some inexplicable reason they are not.

I still can't see how Hosmer is not hitting 400 foot line shots. He attacks the pitch as hard as any player I've ever seen.

Yep. Cain and Escobar are the only ones that I expect to take a small step back, but the other 7 guys should be taking huge steps foward the rest of the season on offense(including Valencia for Moose). They have grossly under performed on offense while the pitching has basically been what was expected and they are still 500. There is reason to be optimistic.

Except that this is nearly the same offense as last season. And we finished in the bottom of the league in a lot of important offensive categories last season. Why should we believe that will change?

I guess Aoki, Infante, and Valencia can be better than Lough, Getz, and Moose. Hope that's enough.

The pitching staff if it holds true would be pretty daunting with how playoff pitching rotations condense and could make a lot of teams sweat.

I love this idea, but I would bat Escobar/Dyson/Cain 9th. Having one of them on 1st with Gordon up will result in more fastballs in anticipation of the steal and more favorable counts for the same reason. That would ignite Alex's bat, IMO.

He was not that great as the leadoff guy last year.

Heh, Justin Maxwell and Moose together in the Omaha clubhouse tonight:

Maxwell: "Moose..."
Moose: "Yeah, Justin."
Maxwell: "Just ****ing shoot me, OK?"
Moose: "Yeah, well, me first, dude."

This is on the front page of the Omaha Stormchasers website today. The arrival of Moose...they're SOOOOOOOOO excited! And Moose looks thrilled to be back in AAA ball. The six hour bus rides, the scuffed up batting practice balls, the Holiday Inns. Yes! Exciting!

Moose would swing and miss the bullet, some how, some way.

Honestly though, getting sent to AAA has to be truly humiliating and defeating. You'd feel like your entire life just took a step back. I can't imagine.
