I'm glad Reid just wants to be HC, and not also an OC or GM. Let him be free to be the HC. This is all based on the assumption that Pioli will no longer be here. But if Pioli has no say on players or coaches.....I can live with it I guess. I'd rather he be gone but it would kind of be funny if Clark made him just do bitch work for the franchise while Reid basically called all the shots.

make him Reid's bitch and maybe he'll settle on a buyout it's not our money to just throw away Clark has rectified the situation. Pioli is getting a serious demotion at worst. Who cares now? If people are mad because we hire an accomplished head coach who gets his pick at GM and gets final say... why do we care if Pioli is fired or not? I guess I just don't get it. He's going to get paid regardless might as well see if he's worth anything to our new guys. Who knows? Maybe he's pretty good in little bitch role. |
Albert Breer @AlbertBreer
One thing to monitor on Reid/KC ... Scott Pioli has final say written into his contract. So if he somehow survives, deal might be redone. |
Vermeil said Reid did not ask him about how he thought he could co-exist with Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli.

It's funny how obvious it is who LaCanfora, Breer, etc.'s "source" always is in KC.

Again, Pioli's own mouthpiece, LaCanfora, specifically said, if Reid is in KC, Pioli is out.

The thinking may be that in order to make the transition smoother, Pioli sticks around and helps with the transition, and in the meantime he can line himself up for another job in another front office, say Atlanta or New England, and after the draft, we part ways via a settlement or something and he moves on to his new club and we revamp the front office by hiring scouts and personnel people who are now available for hiring... |

Guys at NFLN are at all cost holding on to the hope Pioli stays in KC.

I guess I read in the other thread about Pioli having final say written into his contract...
so perhaps we will have to fire Pioli after all Sweet |

Absolutely no way Pioli stays.

I'm sure we'll have a new thread once THE DEAL IS DONE anyway.
|
OK, Eskin just came on the air again; regularly scheduled segment. No news really. He said after the nine hour meeting between seven Chiefs FO people, Reid, and his agent Bob Lamont, a deal is close. Reiterated the "Reid can bring his own GM" line, and he played a clip of Clark speaking about what he wanted in a new HC on Monday, and said "That sounds like Andy". I would imagine none of this is earth shattering.
|
Eagles reporter on 610 said Monte Kiffin would likely be DC
|
Albert Breer @AlbertBreer
what if fish had titties that would be weird huh. id get a boner looking at a fish prolly |
Albert Breer @AlbertBreer
Again, if they close the Reid deal, I -- like everyone else -- doubt Pioli survives. Just passing this on, in case of the possibility. |

Casserly just said on NFLN that Reid is a good developer of QB's and WONT use the first pick on a QB.:grr: Mentioned that DL will be a need going forward...

Been reported that the Kiffin stuff has no smoke, so I'm thinking they won't go there.

whoa just realized that "mort report" rhymes |
Randy Covitz was just on NFLN. Said the "deal is imminent" stuff is coming from Bob Lamonte if I heard him correctly. Also he said he thinks the holdup has to do with Pioli.
|
not even I would dance on that line anymore, thig, bro.

Our best bet is to hope Rivera gets fired tomorrow, and let him convince Reid to stick to the 3-4. |

The deal has been imminent for four hours now. When is it official?

God I'd hate to run the Tampa 2. That would be a downer.

Chiefs are going to have to fire Pioli before they hire Reid.

If Pioli has final say in football ops, Clark has to fire him first.

I wish, I wish that we had a Planeteer who is an expert in contract law. I have many interrogatories.

Geez fire him Clark

***OFFICIAL Andy Reid "The deal is nearly close to being imminent" THREAD***
Let's hit the reset button and try and have just one dedicated thread for this Andy Reid business. The two threads we have going now are basically identical, and merging them would be even cluster****ier.
MODS, LOCK THEM SHITS COMMENCE TO FAPPING IN THIS THREAD AND THIS THREAD ONLY http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-conte...circuiting.gif |
Clark must have given pioli a giant ****ing $$$$ extension....
this is ridiculous, he should have been shit canned with crennel |

If Reid does in fact not want to work with Pioli, do you fire him tonight or tomorrow, then hire Reid?
|
|
Quote:
Because final say means Pioli has to agree to several of the things Clark is trying to do. |
Quote:
|
I would fire him during the interview with Reid.
