He has been offered one of the richest contracts ever for a football operations CEO and with the chance to reside in one of the most pleasant places in America, Kansas City.

All that awaits, apparently, is his signature.

Mike Smith from ESPN was saying yesterday on 810 that it would take around 5 mil or so to get it done...maybe that's exactly what Clark has offered.

5 mil. and total control? How can Pioli turn that down?

Well, here's some cheap advice from one of the most cynical regions of the country: Sign it.

That's right, it's time."

KC is perfect place for Pioli
On Pro Football
Bill Burt

Me RIKEY!

I know we've all discussed different options for GM that involve talented and hungry young guys trying to move up, and it IS a valid debate/point.
That said, a hire of Pioli's stature raises this franchise IMMEDIATELY out of obscurity, and will give the Chiefs MUCH more clout in the FA market.

Just sayin'...

Mort just reported on espn that kc is the front runner to get Pioli

Brock 01-07-2009 09:39 AM

Well, I hope he's the best possible candidate.

I'm tired of waiting. I'd like to know if he is going to come or not.

I'm sure this guy had to learn a thing or two from bill and that organization as a whole...

I am just ready for the ball to get rolling now...see if this move happens

Not if he leads the team to a SB win in three years.

Why? It's not like there's a front-office salary cap.

A large problem with this team is the inability to open the wallet for the right people.

Why? Think how much impact a GM has on winning. If I were Clark Hunt, and wanted to build a winner, I'd be much more willing to spend it on Scott Pioli at $5 million per year than say a washed up Donnie Edwards at $5 million per year.
