The Chiefs barely played Gay and Tranquill. Bolton with a ton of snaps. Still stopped the run. A shitload of snaps for Conner, who is the third safety. I wonder what Miami's YPC was running at nickel and dime. I bet it wasn't good.

I don’t remember anyone else going down for any significant period of time. Rice got dinged but was fine. |
Best DC in football btw

Chiefs defense kept the Dolphins out of the red zone the entire game.
Spags has them playing Championship level ball. |

I’ll admit now that spags has his pieces he’s calling solid plans. This defense is giving my Giants 07’ or 11’ vibes
|
People don’t credit Spags enough for leading a linebacker core of Hitchens, Niemann, and Ragland and a secondary that had Fenton and Dan Sorenson to stone the 49ers #2 rushing attack on 4 drives in a row to bag Mahomes first Super Bowl.

With so many HC openings there may be a 5% chance he gets interviewed. Rivera wouldn't be horrible

Took a long time tonight but Spags finally got there. Defense pitched a shutout in the 4th just when we needed it.

Still haven’t given up 30!
|
credit to spags. the amount of guys that went down - important guys - at the very start of the game must have caused a variety of pages from the playbook to be torn out. the on-fly-adjustments came slow but he deserves flowers for figuring something out to patch together a couple key stops.
only complaint is why the **** was farrell inactive. also nnadi isn't the greatest but he was clearly missed. gonna need to add some beef for the ravens. |

My heart rate was too high all game to appreciate how the defense shut down the Bills passing attack. Only 2 completions over 6 yards. That's ****ing crazy. |
Spags took away Cook on the last three drives. He had 4 carries for minus 6 yards. Run blitzing.
|
He really is the Anti-Sutton in almost every way.
Not afraid to all out blitz (Sutton rarely blitzed). He is known for excellent halftime adjustments (Sutton was repeatedly criticized for lack of in game adjustments). His defenses do get rushed early at times, but have had excellent second halves (Sutton’s D’s usually had a great gameplan but were remembered for second half collapses). |

Do you guys think Spags knows that Romo calls him SPAGNAOLA or do you think he never watches a broadcast and just film?
|
Bills didn't have a single play over 20 yards.
Last time that happened, it was 2018, Josh Allen's 4th career game. 99 games ago. Spags is the ****ing GOAT DC. |
Best DC ever?
After what he's accomplished, idk who you say is better. |

He made Josh commit to playing Alex Smith ball for the entire game. No matter the cost. They couldn't do it in the end. Look at the play before 3rd and 9. Diggs wide open underneath and he goes for the big play.

Everyone is (wrongfully) blaming Josh Allen for going to the endzone with this instead of throwing it to Diggs underneath, but it’s the right play!

The safety drops down on the out to Kincaid & Shakir is coming WIDE open in the middle of the endzone. pic.twitter.com/QpURJtcKn7
— Michael Phillips (@mikephillipsOG) January 22, 2024
 |

It was a dumb throw by Josh. He was just gonna give the ball back to Mahomes with 2 minutes if that was completed.
He should have checked down LMAO - bet we would have lost. |

Two hero balls later someone's head has to be on the block for that series being so horrifically mishandled. The world thinks Josh Allen I the great white hope, so i dont see how Mcderpitt survives this. Mahomes is getting the ball with a minute 40 and 2 timeouts if the hero balls or field goals are executed. You've already seen what he can do to you with 13 seconds and 2 timeouts against a number one defense, and this one you have now has like one linebacker left. I'd love to know the honest answer of just what Mcderpitt was planning there. It would probably make about as much sense as his fake punt from the 29. |
they should have just designed run josh on those last two plays LMAO
|
It pisses me off when you see the Assistant coach of the Year finalist and Spags isn't on there, but Jim Schwartz and Mike MacDonald are... I get MacDonald, but with our offensive struggles putting this Def in bad positions during the Reg season, being the youngest Defense in the league, and finishing 2nd overall, Spags should at least be a finalist.
|
Ronald MacDonald will have clown shoes put on his defense

Josh Allen's legs and the Bills heavy formation on running downs was their offense. When you consider how the Bills shredded our defense through the air in the 13 seconds game just two years ago it says everything about how far the defense has come. |

Daly interviewed for Giant’s DC job. Mike Caldwell -former jags DC, played LB and coached LBs with Reid and Spags in Philly- is a name to keep in mind if they lose Daly. |

Probably the best called game I've ever seen. Kudos to Spags.

He's just the GOAT.
Slowed down Josh Allen and made Lamar Jackson look very, very mortal and easy to beat. Ring of Honor. Statue. HOF. Let him have all of it. His name deserves to be right up there with Andy Reid as far as the greatest coaches to ever do it. |
Spags and Veach built the best defense in the league.
THE best. Not a good defense. Not a great defense. THE BEST. In the entire league. THE BEST. |
Shut down an elite Pats offense in 2007 and the Ravens tonight.
|
Unbelievable job by Spags and his guys on Defense today. Baltimore has been torching everyone this season in their home games, but only 10 points today. Phenomenal stuff from Spags, his assistants, and the players on that side of the ball.
|
If Andy does happen to retire Spags should get another shot as HC
|
HES A GODDAMN GENIUS JIM!!
