He's not coming to Missouri, more just a courtesy to the in-state school. I find it interesting they didn't list Saint Louis U. in his potential school list?

My understanding is he has had two other family members play ball there and I think I read Larry Hughes (another Biliken) was his godfather.

Saint Louis should be in the Top 5, along with Duke and Kansas.

I disagree with CPR being on that list. Fact is ISU just hasn't been good anywhere in history, and he's been the best thing to happen to our football program. Attendance is at an all time high, we are finally building a SEZ, we now have arguably the best football training facility in the nation. During his first three(or four?) years he was the winningest coach in ISU history. He's already taken us to more bowls than anyone else and in a much shorter time.

If he wasn't just coming off of a down year(which happens everywhere in college football), or just lost to NDSU who was arguably harder than our other two games(K-State and Iowa) no one would be putting him on that list.

The recruits Iowa State are getting now are night and day different than what they used to be. They will continue to get better during the year as they have every week already. Whole new coaching staff on offense and just a ridiculously young defense.

Sure he's made some mistakes as any first time HC would, but we are better off sticking with him than going a different route. He's set up to have a real good team next year, if not by the end of this year(which of course is harder to see now with how hard our schedule is)

Would be nice if we had a B1G schedule where it would be easy to get 10 wins with a good team.

Of course you don't think ISU should ever be criticized. You're a blind homer and that's what makes you....you. Don't ever change.

ISU's facilities can't hold a light to Texas A&M's...

My university is no different from many others in that its record is not perfect in terms of dealing with misconduct by its athletes. But I don't think I have ever been prouder of my team and university than the day coach Gary Pinkel and athletic director Mike Alden announced the decision to kick DGB off the team.

Next year is probably their best shot at it. Will be pretty talented and experienced. I just hope we can keep this same coaching staff in place for it.

Final 4 and a BCS no doubt

I mean I'm not saying BCS is my expectations, but it's hard to imagine us ever having a better coaching staff in place. If they ever want to make it, doing it before Mangino is poached away and before Wally retires is probably our best bet.

There was a former NFL player in ames a few weeks ago and he said he was shocked how good their facilities were. He said he played for two NFL teams and neither compared to Iowa States facilities.

Well at least end that gay little hoops streak then again the NCAA puts more merit in the conference tourney

RustShack 09-17-2014 10:14 PM

@CoyWire: I played for 2 NFL clubs - neither of which had a weight room as nice as @CycloneFB's new setup. Wow. Also, OC Mangino is awesome.

Iowa States time is FOR SURE coming in basketball. Getting better every year with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
