Yep, pretty much this. He'll need to start off at AA and keep doing his thing. Just glad to see he got this spring training opportunity to get his feet wet and get to know the other guys and the routine, etc.

Also think they want to send him for him to work on his defense as a 1B and OF. That is the right spots to have him work on it before he's ready to play in the MLB level defensively.

It's funny, I know this is mostly tongue in cheek... but I was talking about BWJ today, thinking about his time in the minors. What applies to one, doesn't necessarily apply to another...

But...

BWJ played exactly 161 games of minor league ball. Got a taste of rookie ball the year he was drafted in '19. 2020 was wiped out due to Covid, though he did play around with others in whatever jackwagon thing they had happening during that shitshow of a year. And then he split 2021 between AA and AAA before making the team for good out of ST in 2022. This is after getting drafted out of HIGH SCHOOL. That's insane.

Just a little food for thought as we satiate over what could be with Jac... I mean, it's not like all of our hopes and dreams rest on his shoulders or anything...;)

Kyle Wright (shoulder, hamstring) will face hitters on Thursday in a live batting practice session.

Wright was shelved early in camp with a mild hamstring strain and is just getting back to facing hitters again. The 29-year-old righty will likely open the regular season on the injured list, but figures to be an option for Kansas City’s rotation mix in the near future. It’ll presumably be Kris Bubic opening the year in the fifth starter spot with Daniel Lynch IV moving to the bullpen.

I know it’s Spring Training in Mesa… 3 games left but Regan’s throwing 97 and getting hammered. A’s using him for BP. 6-1 A’s in the 3rd.

Royals trade for Canha

https://www.mlb.com/news/royals-acqu...ewers-in-trade

tk13 03-21-2025 10:15 PM

There's an OF. Royals tried to get Canha a year or two ago. He's 36 now and he hasn't had a good spring.

His power has slipped the last couple years but he takes walks. A positive move in that respect, he still hit pretty well against lefties last year and he'll get on base.

nychief 03-22-2025 08:13 AM

Canha is a smart move, he can still get on base - essentially has the contract we offered Duvall - and they are similar players. He can still hit lefties and take a walk... should be a nice 4/5 outfielder.

CaliforniaChief 03-22-2025 08:50 AM

A lot of us worried that JJ was Dayton Jr. He's definitely a significant upgrade.

Canha's not a major deal, but he's a great piece to add to the puzzle and I'm confident Q will use him well.

I did see Brent Rooker tag Ragans for a double and next time up took a first-pitch slider out of the park. Miss that guy's 69 home runs over the last two seasons.

Really the only thing potentially holding us back from being a consistent team competing for the playoffs right now seems to be drafting/developing players. We have generally done well on the trade market, we opened up the pocket book for a star, our manager generally does the right things and seems well liked and money hasn't seemed to be an issue as of yet. If we could just get a more consistent stream of help from the minors we should be in a good position for the next 5-10 years with Witt as a cornerstone.

nychief 03-22-2025 02:55 PM

And a huge part of the team having any continued success is being able to develop some pitching. For years, this organization was a pitching developmental powerhouse, but for the past 30 years it's been mostly pretty bad. That has to change.

BWillie and PB were also on the Bobby Witt ‘bust’ train 3 months into his 2023 season. He actually thought Vinnie would end up a better player for the Royals than Witt. 😂

He at least finally saw the light and came around. But it was pretty rough there for a while.

If Vinnie is legit hurt, we may be seeing Cags earlier this season than we thought . . . . . . 🤔

Just watching the video replay, it doesn't look serious. He walked off the field under his own power with barely a limp. Hopefully it's nothing more than "day to day". At any rate, he's got five days to rest and spend time in the trainer's room.

My point is, I don't think so. I'll take the carlos' arm over a ****ing stratton. I just think they kept Stratton because of his salary... which is lame.

Why Not? 03-24-2025 07:16 AM

Stratton and Hernandez are deck chairs on the Titanic guys. It was Hernandez turn to go overboard. I'd be surprised if the same fate doesn't await Stratton at some point this season. They both suck.

Stream it on one of your sticks instead of trying to rely on the shitty on-board smart TV stuff.

The Bally's app is frustratingly buggy, but fine when it's working. Maybe they've invested a little more in it (not holding my breath - Sinclair is still calling the shots, and they're cheap assholes).

Cool, thanks.. I was just thinking that, because the TV is hardwired into the local switch, that it might have a better chance that the wireless connection the other sticks have. Well they're all about 5 feet from the router, so maybe the wireless will work fine. That and Mrs. Glorydayz is the main Royals fan in this house, and I'm pretty sure she'd do better with the TV all than figuring out how to use the sticks. Welp, she'll just have to learn...

Thanks again...

So I just signed up for Fanduel, but from my laptop (Of which I prefer to watch on seeing the wife isn't a fan :(). I just went to their site (https://fanduelsportsnetwork.com/packages) and created an account. And then followed their instructions. I had Royals, Cardinals and Thunder available in my zip code (I chose Royals, but I presume one can pick whatever they want), and get a 7 day free trial. If I'm not happy, I can cancel anytime, with my monthly subscription (19.99/mo).

Their annual packages are 99.99/season thru Sept. 29th, or the whole season for about twice that amount at 189.99 and I assume is thru the end of the playoffs? I not sure about the annual pricing, just speculation.

So on avg. it costs around .75 cents a game (162 divide by 6 mo=27, 19.99divided by 27 = .74)

It says I can get it on any device (although in the comments they say it has problems, I don't know yet).

Will see this Thursday. 3:00.

Offer lasts 6 days I think

Not sure how that impacts the local market but have used it for the last 2 seasons out of market

It's useless for local markets, unless you want to watch other teams.

All signed up and ready to go. I signed up thru Amazon Prime, let's see it that was a wise choice, or not, but either way Mrs. GloryDayz will be in business.. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4227c36902.jpg

If you're logged on on your phone did it let you log on on your TV? IOW, do they limit it to one session at a time. I'm fine with that, I just want to be aware so I can warn/inform Mrs. Glorydayz in case she wants to watch on her phone when not home but might leve us logged on here at home.

It said it was available on all my devices (TV, laptop, phone), but I haven't gone there yet. We downloaded the app on the TV, and all I need to do is log in to my account. I would imagine the phone would be the same, but I haven't gotten the app on it yet. But for me, the laptop will get the most use.

I just reread your post, and I don't know if it lets you do that (multiple devices) or not. Let me know.

Edit: I quoted the wrong post, meant to also quote your last post. :doh!:

I've seen "5" total devices and "2" streaming at a time, I just don't know exactly what my logon would be since I signed up through Amazon Prime. Perhaps that was a mistake...

Just one more day ladies!

ROYC75 03-26-2025 10:25 AM

OK, dropped my DTV last year, so how would I sign up to get the R's this year.

So I don’t know if anyone here would be able to help with this…. My mother’s cable tv package includes Fandual in its channel listings, and I was looking ahead at tomorrow’s game time, but they have the Cardinals/Twins game listed. I know this was an occasional issue last year, getting the Cardinals broadcast as opposed to the Royals. I’ve tried reaching out to her cable service. Surprise, not much help there, but they did say they would reach out to dispatch to reach out to the broadcaster, FWIW…. Any ideas on how I can further follow up on this?

Also, because she’s supposed to get the local Royals broadcast, is there a way I can piggyback on her account and somehow get the stream while I’m at work, or am I gonna have to get an app? This was stupidly a lot easier when I lived out of area. Signed up for MLBTV for years and the stream was almost always great, high quality and worth the price. But obviously that won’t work for me now since I’m within Royals broadcast territory.

They should have an alternative channel for over flow. Also if you have her username and password for her account, you should be able to login into Fanduel app or online and watch the game.

I have Comcast/Xfinity in Kansas City and FanDuel is on Channel 201
Royals Live! Pregame starts at 2:00 PM and MLB Baseball: Cleveland Guardians at Kansas City Royals begins at 3:00 PM CDT

Side Note - FanDuel is also on Channel 925, but the channel guide does not show the Royals game being listed. When I set up to record Royals, it records on 201.

LFG...so excited to watch Royals games again.....

Thanks for the assist.

But what do you mean alternative channel for overflow? And her username/password would be effective if she does online billing, correct? She doesn't, btw. But I can always create one, and then I still have to get the fanduel app? And how online from my work computer without the app? Sorry, I am not a smart man and I've got a lot of questions.

Also, just wanted to say I'm pretty psyched about tomorrow and about this season. I'm thinking we're an 88-74 team, +5/-5 either way. And once again, that should keep things interesting all season, and have us in the playoff hunt. Plenty of other thoughts and predictions, but how about you? Whaddya got for the 2025 Royals?

Fansy the Famous Bard 03-26-2025 08:58 PM

89 wins. Lfg

I don't see any way the starting pitching staff recreates the success they had last year.

Why Not? 03-26-2025 10:01 PM

You’re probably right but it is also unlikely the entire OF is literally offensively worthless and we go without an actual lead off hitter (this is already fact) so hope it evens out.
