What a knuckle puck of a goal (deflection). LMAO
Before that shot, they were consistently one pass too many on that PP and the 5 on 3, it was getting a bit annoying (even if every fan in the history of hockey wants their team to immediately shoot the puck on the PP). |
Holy shit.
Sucks to be the Blues today, but the Jets are a quality team.
Manson makes up for his two dumb penalties with that pass.
Rubbing it in at this point. LMAO
Not watching, but that appears to have escalated quickly.
Big win.
1 down, 15 to go. |
Blackwood loses his two front teeth and stays in the game...

Looking forward to the battle of Florida. Whoever comes out of this one will be beat up pretty good as I see this thing going 7 very physical games

WTF was that all about? Had a nice break, plead 2 solid periods. Then in the 3rd period they simply didn't have any legs at all. They weren't even competing out there. It was just bizarre. That went from a game that could've had Winnipeg nervous to a game where I think the Jets come away knowing that the Blues simply can't play 60 quality minutes against them somehow. The 3rd period was THAT bad. And that PP early in the 3rd kinda gave it away -- Thomas made 2 or 3 really good passes and they were just exploding on sticks. They couldn't even handle a pass at that point. They had nothing at all. You don't see is happen very often where a team just dies in the last 20 minutes like that . Sometimes they get out-skilled, sure -- but they simply had no legs. |
Sens shooting themselves in the foot with undisciplined penalties. Leafs taking advantage of it with 2 power play goals and up 4-1 in second
Can't believe the battle of Florida doesn't start until tomorrow and they have the Wild and Knights game doesn't start until 10 central time tomorrow. WTF
Yeah, the NHL seems to think it's in the same league as the NFL and can go full reerun with blackouts, streaming, and playoff game start times, because fans will just tune in anyway... guess they'll see how that works out with an ~8:40 puck drop in Tampa and then 11pm Eastern puck drop in Vegas.

If Nazem Kadri did what Ridley Greig did last night to Tavares, he’d be suspended for the entire series.

Nice. Kind of felt like it was coming with Colton getting hurt last game. Let's see what the Captain can do!
Ovie starts it out with a power play goal from his SPOT. This one is nasty already
Kyrou looks like he hasn't recovered from that hit yet. just kind of barely skating around, no intensity at all.
Dang. Kyrou must be hurt or something. he's playing almost submissively. no speed, no aggression, no chase, very passive.
Caps just fell asleep in the 3rd, wow.
Montreal making a late comeback to tie it up.
No Landy tonight. He took warmups, but Wood is in instead. I bet he goes Wednesday.
Didn't even think about it being an 8:52pm puck drop in Dallas.
Can't have games overlap! Well... until the first game goes to OT. |
Exciting game.
Ah well. Blues just not playing playoff hockey. Just hope they don't get swept. but won't be surprised if they do.
Avs on the board! MacKinnon!!
With a few minutes left in the 1st, I thought about posting something along the lines of "not sure Dallas will have the wheels or guns in this series if they don't get a player or two back, but I'm sure that means they'll win this 5-1" .....and then like clockwork, they go up 2-1. LMAO
LOC is having a game.

That LOC goal was sick!
Avs are so deep now after all the trades and finally getting healthy. Even the 4th line is bringing it. |
Ha ha, Makar just casually dumped Marchment like a bitch...

They shot their bolt, fellas. They put so much mental energy into just making the playoffs that they just don't have enough left at this point. Thats two games in a row where they just petered out in the third period. That can't be purely physical -- they just don't have the mental stamina to dig as deep as they need to for 60 minutes of playoff hockey. |
There's nothing as intense as playoff hockey. Especially overtime playoff hockey.
There's no other sport where depending on whistles you have 5-10 minute stretches where you can't take your eyes off the screen. When was the last stoppage in play in this O/T? Feels like they've been playing for at least 10 minutes straight. Took Bichsel getting a helmet in the mouth to finally stop play. |
Too much to keep up with there. Stars and Avs were playing a great OT and totally missed the Oilers and Kings going back and forth for 3 goals in the last two minutes.
Oooof. Painful OT loss for the Avs right there. They should have put that away well before then.
Home advantage might help. |
The LA/Edmonton game was fire.
Habs got lucky to get it to OT and I think nerves got to them but still tough loss , I think they might get swept , McDavid is absolutely unreal he just took over that game not sure you can stop him when he’s rolling like that , I guess bad goaltending is the only way.

Ovechkin scores his first ever playoff OT goal...

Wow, missed all the late night fun. :(
Thought for sure the Oilers would finish their comeback with a W. LA is so tough at home though and they found a way with 41 seconds left to get the game winner. Nothing like the Stanley Cup playoffs. 4 more games today

Yeah, looks that way to me as well. They kind of remind me of the 2018(?) team. Just came into the playoffs flat as hell. I think they might’ve blown their wad trying to get into the playoffs and now they’re out of gas. But Kyrou looked passive as hell after that hit in the first period and never looked himself after. The whole team stopped skating in the third period. Feel bad for Binner as he’s been playing pretty good, but just isn’t getting enough help scoring wise or defensively. |

How many empty net shots did the Kings miss?

Leafs seem to be enjoying playing a team that isn't a Cup contender in the first round for the first time in years.

Disgraceful performance last night. But I'm not surprised because all through the Bruce Cassidy tenure we've had the propensity to look all world one day, then totally lay an egg AT HOME the next day. In our championship run we lost 5-1 to the Jets game one, 5-1 to the Oilers game two. 4-2 to Dallas game five all at home. So this is nothing new and silly mistakes by our defensive vets cost us. Still very confident the boys will get it done but it's a frustrating loss. Especially after we controlled the game after the first period but just couldn't finish.

Getting planted skating back into the crease at the end... ROFL
The first part is some Belfour/Mike Smith shit. LMAO Stolarz played at UNO as a backup for a year and wasn't all that great, but was only a freshman before going to juniors in Canada... kind of crazy seeing him in the NHL all grown up. |
I love that shoulder check.
Because that's a CLEAR douche move by Stolarz. It's like the baserunners that get out and make it a point to run over the mound on their way back to the dugout. That's his crease. That's his turf. And when you're trying to skate between him and the goal instead of just go around, it's nothing more than you being a dick; the equivalent of stomping on a team logo. FAFO, kiddo. One of those crosschecks was pretty damn questionable and the little slash was as well. But the first crossh-check and the shoulder check at the end -- those were just glorious. Every goalie is just a little bit crazy. |

Here it is. |
Given that 3 second clip, it's pretty difficult to say losing an edge was done on purpose in order to hurt Stolarz, but of course people love to make up stuff and create villains (much less tweet that quote like it's a statement of fact).

Video game goal, WTF were the Stars doing LMAO
Quote:
Stars have adjusted and they're actually clogging up passing lanes and not letting the Avalanche have most of the ice for transition like the first two games... rough period and 1-0 go figure.
Poor bastard just took a 100mph puck right to the cubes. Oooooooof.
Almost two identical tripping calls... you can't not call the one on MacKinnon, no matter how incidentally weird it looked. And the call on Duchene often doesn't get called, until it does.
Awful PP response by the Avalanche though. |
Kings are leaving no doubt tonight.... well, less doubt.
Another playoff OT game. Another early work meeting the next morning. ****ing hockey....
Quote:
Lindell has saved the game for them twice, ****.
That sucks after all those great chances.
Brutal
Seems like that's how every series against DeBoer goes... they adjust and then the Avalanche suddenly don't have any answers.
And that's not completely fair, they needed Lindell to save their ass twice in a 4 minute span from the crease.... but the Stars started back checking and figuring out how tue Avalanche like to enter the zone and just completely mucked up their game for most of last night. Not sure who wore it better... Duchene standing and pointing like a dumbass during the first goal or Drouin being useless all the way down the ****ing ice in OT. :shake: |
I have the Avs winning it all. Must win game 4 now
