Key word right there. How many guys were mocked to KC at #31 were gone before the Chiefs pick? I honestly believe Veach took FAU because he didn’t think he would have be there in the 40s range. The fact he picked him over Hyatt shows who he felt was the better fit for KC at #31 as he could have just drafted Hyatt instead.

Duece a poor, smaller version of CEH. Id take a flyer as a UDFA, but no thanks in drafting him.

Look at Palmer absolutely fly here. Dude has to slow down to catch Stroud's deep ball.

And he's doing it 20lbs heavier than Hyatt.

His RAS score is barely over 4, RBs that score thar low usually go undrafted.

Good stuff from this young man. I'm excited to watch him and his growth. He busts his ass! :thumb:

Pick is going be well worth it with more production than we got from the Shark Frank Clark last couple seasons.

Well yeah, that's a no shit. That's because his size is the reason for the low RAS.

What does the tape tell you otherwise though? Sometimes you can't rely on RAS and all the statistics/metrics out there. You also have to gauge it by the eye test as well as to what the tape tells you as well.

And given how the RB class has gone so far, there'll be a need for him.

I think he’s gonna be a good one. 8-10 sacks per year IMO

Not original at all. Also, Watson the Raper did it in Arrowhead when they were up 24-0

Fish 05-02-2023 12:08 AM

Even as a K-State homer, I think he's going to make a difference. I like his attitude and his humble dedication to the game. He was incredible with K-State, and improved very rapidly. He could put on 10-15+lb probably pretty easily, and it wouldn't slow him down any. He had a sneaky factor that I hope translates to the NFL. Him being so young, yet so capable is just icing on the cake...

That Mazi talk was complete bullshit. The only thing that we've heard about him was that we tried to trade up with the Cowboys to take him. Do you really think that Veach called the Cowboys and told them who we were trying to trade up for?

That's the Cowboys trying to save face for a shit pick in the first round.

Chiefs take one of the 7.

"I nailed the pick"

No dumbass, literally called Karlaftis and FAU in the call your shot threads.

Nice try though.

I've explained before that my mock draft is a combination of what I would do/hope for and predictive.

Obviously, "call your shot" is 100% predictive.

I said before that I had to actually see Johnston fall to 31 to believe it, but I thought there was a good enough chance to put him in my mock. Is there any doubt he would've been the pick if he made it there?

Also, I had Karlaftis in my final mock AND in the call your shot thread last year. Not at all trying to hedge my bets.

Considering even Veach isn't sure who he'll end up drafting until he turns a name in, it's not surprising that nobody nails mock drafts on a regular basis.

I usually get one in my mock.

Just missed this year with Jerome Carvin, who I had the Chiefs taking in the 7th, but he was a priority UDFA for them.

Other guys I've nailed in my final mock or the call your shot thread:

Karlaftis
Thornhill
Gay
Sneed
FAU
