Toney saying his account was 'hacked'
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...iants-messages Not gonna lie, don't care if he's talking shit, fine. It's a little stupid imo, but you do whatever you want and whatever gives you motivation. But to come out and say you were hacked when this is obviously you.... man.... I think that just looks pretty lame. That being said, he won't look lame with a 2nd ring at the end of the year... sooo... takin the good with the bad. |

With how he's talked about NYG in the past, we know he's lying, but very valid point and PSA. |

Mahomes said Toney "can be one of the best WRs in this league" when asked about his excitement in working with the third-year wideout. That's really all there is in this article, included link just in case anyone wanted it. |
TY
|
This might be the worst WR performance I've even seen from a Chief.
He is the sole reason we lost the game. |
Move this thread to the romper room
|
I think I was inaccurate when I said last week he was the 6th best WR on the team. Hes the 7th. Man, wish we had Smith-Marsette about right now.
|
He sucked.
|
**** him
|
Toney is trash. Stupid mistake.
|
Cut his dumb ass
|
Weird to see a wide receiver singlehandedly cost a team the one seed. Incredible.
This guy is ****ing horrible and should’ve been cut after the Lions game. |
Unbelievable
|
Honestly, what do you do with him at this point?
He’s lost us two games now this year. The Lions game I could forgive. Couple drops, bang bang plays, whatever.. but lining up offsides? When you’re lined up tight? He was literally 5 yards from the football, staring right at it. How do you line up offsides there on a crucial play late in the game? |
I would not let Toney on the field again. He has singlehandedly lost two games.
His head just isn't in the game, like ever. He is such a bad receiver, the Chiefs have to invent ways like lining him up as a RB to get the ball in his hands. |
Man, that's going to be an awkward locker room for Toney.
How do you do that? That's a junior high lesson. I mean, it clearly didn't affect the play, but the refs are calling us so incredibly tight this year that we can't make any stupid mistakes. And that was the stupidest of stupid mistakes. |
Toney is trash. Stupid mistake.
|
Drink a gallon of cum you useless mother ****er.
|
Lazy ball awareness.
|
I don't care what he did in the Super Bowl, Toney's brain is just full of mush on gamedays.
|
Quote:
I care that he's now cost us 2 games this season. He should be cut. |
That call is the definition of ticky tack. Still Toney’s fault but holy shit that never gets called. That’s called ref influence my friends because you could literally find any petty shit to call on every single play.
|
He was lined up <5 yards from the ball STARING at the ****ing ball with his body past the ****ing ball. How in the **** can you lack that much awareness? I’d cut that POS tonight. This shit is crazy. So ****ing pissed right now
|
Is Justyn Ross still on the active roster or will they cut Toney to bring back Justyn Ross? Not saying that will be an improvement but it won't make them worse either.
|
**** you Toney!
|
I'm surprised he managed to catch the lateral.
|
still better than skyy moore

Oh, but he returned a punt in the SB when Mahomes was driving the team to TDs every drive in that half anyway.
|
Unfortunately he is one of the few WR's on this team that can actually play WR.
So he needs to keep playing, there aren't better options. |

Toney's fifth-year contract option must be picked up by the Chiefs on Thursday (May 2) to prevent the former New York Giants 2021 first-round pick from hitting the free agent market next year.
As the option would pay Toney a fully-guaranteed $14.3 million in 2025, Kansas City is not expected to be exercised. https://athlonsports.com/nfl/kansas-...hy-rashee-rice |
No chance they pick it up

I mean, Toney might be gone the second Rice gets off suspension.

All the shitty true fans thinks this is the option to keep him this year or not smh. I hate our fan base and its bandwagon fans but I love the reason that we finally have bandwagon fans.

Maybe you get a more focused Toney with him knowing that he is playing for another contract in the NFL. I don't have any faith that he is going to put it together or stay healthy but money is a helluva motivator.

One last year to see if the talent is salvageable. Who knows. Probably Mahomes throws nothing his way and he slinks off at the end of the year. Best case he starts well in Rice's absence and it clicks. Either way he's never getting $14m.
|
This is what I’m hoping for. I hope the money motivates him and that he catches the ball this year. He ran hard after the catch. I like his energy on the field. He’s just gotta catch the ball. He plays hard. I hope we get one productive year out of him and let him sign elsewhere and we get a comp pick in return.

It's a no risk/all reward situation for the Chiefs with Toney this season. |
Do you think he apologized to Mahomes, and that's why he was in Texas with Mahomes?
Because Mahomes sure seemed DONE with him after the New England game. |
It's official: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2024/...th-year-option
Chiefs decline wide receiver Kadarius Toney’s fifth-year option On Thursday, a report from 33rd Team reporter Ari Meirov placed Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney on a list of players no first-round NFL draft pick ever wants to be on: those whose fifth-year contract options have been declined.

12 players officially had their 5th-year options declined:

No. 2: Zach Wilson
No. 3: Trey Lance
No. 11: Justin Fields
No. 15: Mac Jones
No. 16: Zaven Collins
No. 19: Jamin Davis
No. 20: Kadarius Toney
No. 22: Caleb Farley
No. 24: Najee Harris
No. 28: Payton Turner
No. 29: Eric…
— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) May 2, 2024
Toney, 25, is entering the fourth year of his NFL career, which began when he was acquired by the New York Giants with the 20th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Midway through the following season, Kansas City sent a third-round comp pick (and a sixth-round pick) to the Giants for Toney, who had appeared in only 10 games of his rookie season and only two of New York’s seven 2022 games. While Toney has made some exhilarating plays with the Chiefs — including the longest punt return in Super Bowl history during the fourth quarter of Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVII victory — he’s also made costly errors and continued to miss time with injuries. He has now appeared in 20 Kansas City matchups, accumulating just 41 receptions for 340 yards and three touchdowns. |
They really make that sound dramatic. In any given year less than half the class gets the option picked up.

According to NFL Kick(?) on SiriusXM a few days ago, only about 40% of those players that are traded/released are re-signed. Pretty high failure rate. |

Quote:
Yeah. Though the point of the discussion they were having was that the failure rate is too high; that teams often don't give young players enough time to develop. They gave Geno Smith as an example of a player that just needed more time. I can't say that I disagree on the whole. When you think about the value of first and second round picks, having two out of three of them not receive an extension from the team that drafted them, or 60% also fail to receive an extension from the team they end up on after, that's a ton of wasted value/resources every season. |
**** this guy! We need to sign a vet WR with Rice's situation. If WE want a 3 peat, we need another WR who is a vet! Vet, "Hollywood", XW and we are good to go! :thumb:

If Kadarious has a single brain cell left, he will fall in line with any and everything Andy proposes for him
He's still an extremely talented young player, but if he can't buy in 100% and humble himself... well, bye... maybe your chance to be The Man has come and gone, but do you still want to be a part of this? |
It would be really nice if he were a pleasant surprise this season while Rice is out. Even if it's just 3-4 touches per game that are more like 2022.
|
KaTo had some unfortunate events transpire last season, leading to a loss of confidence.
A dispassionate review of game tapes reveal that several Chiefs players, including Kelce, had drops that were *almost* picked off by the other team. But they weren't. KaTo's case they were, and he got no chances after the problems. That's harsh, but reasonable. This is a new year, and hopefully a clean slate. It's fair ta call it fly or die. |
