It was really weird. Never would have imagined it. Maybe winning like we have really does make fanbases spoiled?

You guys DO know it's possible to be critical of even great players when they don't play well for a stretch of time without being a bad fan.

I was only concerned as to how long it would take for Mahomes to harness the gunslinger mentality enough to be effective against these schemes, not that he was 'done' or a 'flash in the pan'.

It would appear he's on track now, and there's still time to salvage THIS season, so that's great news.

A little less Favre, a little more Brady.

That's how you do it.

calm down, man. It's a metaphor to illustrate the fact that you sometimes need to be smart and take what the defense gives you in order to be able to get the shots you want later in the game, and later in the season.

A little more chess and a little less checkers, how's that?

Sure, but some of these whippersnappers don't actually remember watching Montana play.

Hell, they probably don't remember Favre.

No I think a little more Mahomes will go a lot farther.

**** anything Brady. metaphorically speaking **** Tom Brady.

Rasputin 11-15-2021 04:44 AM

Mahomes can do more with less than Tom Brady. Tom Brady has had the luxury of some of the best offensive lines and defenses put together for his career but look what Mahomes can do with Wilie at RT. **** Tom Brady. I want Patrick Mahomes II to play like Patrick Mahomes II that he plays his style of football.

What was more likely, that suddenly forgot how to play quarterback or was it that his completely new offensive line that he was unfamiliar with was allowing more pressure than anyone in the league and that his receivers either weren’t getting open or dropping passes or fumbling the ball when they did? This shouldn’t have been particularly tough, but apparently it was.

And there are still folks complaining about his play last night.. "Mahomes is still too greedy. He got lucky...etc"
Guess they didn't watch any of this games the last 3 years.
Mahomes was back to being Mahomes AND really playing well from the pocket last night on top of it.

I was so excited to get my season tickets the first year of Montana. First time in my life I wasn't living paycheck to paycheck. Exciting times. No one will ever convince me that we wouldn't have won the super bowl if Montana doesn't get a concussion in Buffalo.

I'm very hesitant to criticize Mahomes, but there was 1 play I did not like from the Raiders game, and that was the TD to Williams.

Throwing a jump ball to a RB like that prob doesn't work 8/10 times. Williams bailed Pat out of a red zone INT, and he even admitted so in the post game interview.

That said, small critique in otherwise a very patient and matured game by Mr. Mahomes.

I think what made that pass questionable was he about threw a pick to the same spot the play before.

IDK.

Mahomes is smart enough to know Abram is basically LV's Daniel Sorensen at this point.

I think that's a matchup he liked.

Otherwise, yeah, very dumb throw, or he didn't see Abram.

In any case, that's a make up play for shit like the ball bouncing off Kemp's hands for a pick. We deserve it.

This is how good Mahomes was last night - 405 yards, 5 TD's, and he overthrew two maybe three MORE touchdowns. He was as locked in against the Raiders as he's been all season long, and I think the rest of the league should be worried after that performance in prime time on the road against a division rival.

Someone was open on the right side around the 15 yard line. It wouldn't have been a touchdown, but it was a sure first and goal. All that doesn't matter though because Williams made one of the catches of the year so far.

And look, that's who Mahomes is - a chance taker looking for the high reward. That is who he's been since his high school days, and that is who we drafted. Being that guy has gotten him a league and Super Bowl MVP so far. I WANT him to make throws like that, that's what he does so well.

As long as he is willing to take the free 10-15 yards the defense is giving him over forcing a 50 yard pass downfield to a blanketed receiver we'll be fine.

Yep. And he looked way more comfortable with all that last night.

Yeah that's fair. I think Collinsworth said we had five drops in the Packer game?
