The #6 seed is up in the air. Pitts, Texans, Colts, Tits, and the Raiders all could end up the #6 seed. The Brown Spots have an outside chance to be the #6 still.

Clean all the ghosts out our closet in one season on the way to the SB where we can knock Jimmy G around again.

If KC can take care of Oakland on Sunday they will have a strangle hold on the division, which is step one. And let things go where they go in Dec. and Jan.

Looks like the Ravens are rolling but they could lose a game and only need to lose two for KC to be in the bye slot, but that could be tough to do. Also, KC will need to win out.

A Pats loss to Hou and KC would help, but KC would still need another loss by the Pats.

Either way, a win on Sunday basically gets KC in the dance.

we don't want the frickin' 3 seed

we want the 2 seed or the 4 seed

the only thing the three seed does for us is let baltimore beat the hell out of us a week before we likely have to play NE

there's also the REMOTE possibility that if a lower seed beats the Patriots in the div we'd host them for the AFCCG but that almost never happens

4 seed or 2 seed

LMAO.....

The NFL has 4 objectives.

#1. Drive ratings by ensuring Tom Tongue-kisser is in the most favorable post-season position...while creating chaos for the remaining seeds. This is the same in the NFC minus the TB12 (Kraft) angle.

They have created a WWF-style adversary...where people tune in ...in hopes NE loses...only to have those dashed in a last-second ref bail-out. You better believe they will be tuning in next week...advertising,advertising, advertising.

#2. Work the Vegas lines...the owners are making an insane amount of money, knowing in advance, who will take a dive. Off-shore, invisible anonymous accounts... The officials on the dole are getting in on the action too....it's a racket.

#3. Satiate a megalo-miainical owner's power-lust need to be the "bestest ever"...a case of "short man" syndrome run amok. This is carried out by two "yes-man" moles hired by Kraft for this purpose...Goodell and Riveron. Kraft runs the NFL but answers to the power-brokers above him, He's a late entry into NFL ownership.....anyone that doesn't understand this...well. You cant have an owner visibly being CEO...so he hired Goodell to play the clown role.

Multiple levels of protection...always.

Nothing happened to him after getting busted....tells you who doesn't runs the shit-show.

#4. Be a propaganda recruiting arm for the DOD....the standing for the anthem was a recent invention financed by the military. This "salute to service" month is the same objective. It's EXACTLY why Trump made a shit-fit over it....

Enjoy the rest of the season...greed kills everything with a soul.

If the Chiefs win out, it would potentially knock the Pats to the 2 seed, if the Ravens win out as well.

Really, the Chiefs need to win out and hope the Ravens lose a couple.

Whats really gonna chap everyone's ass here, is if the Chiefs do win out, the Ravens drop 2 and the Chiefs are the 2 seed.....essentially because of that Titans loss.

Hammock Parties 11-27-2019 09:49 AM

I mean, sure they're beatable.

But by the Texans? Or the Bills? Or the Titans? Nah.

IF they get the 1 seed they'll be in the AFC champ game in Foxboro. It'll just depend on if it's Kc or Balt coming in.

NE has the Texans and us...then the Bengals on the road with the Dolphins and Bills at home.

13-3 is their absolute worst. We won’t jump them.

The Ravens have the 49ers and then...the Bills, Browns and a backup QB led Steelers.

A bye is basically a pipe dream at this point. Shouldn’t have lost to the Titans

O.city 11-27-2019 10:54 AM

The Browns are playing pretty well and it will be the 2nd time they've seen the Ravens.

Chiefs have to win out to have a shot at the 2, I could see the Ravens dropping 2 of those games.

tmax63 11-27-2019 10:59 AM

Lets win on Sunday then worry about seeding. The most important thing is to get an invite to dance, not who your date is. There is no reason for the Chiefs to be scared of any team, I'd argue the reverse. The Chiefs have shown to be very explosive on offense and the D has shown occasional flashes. Not a scenario any team out there wants to face in a one-and-done game.

O.city 11-27-2019 11:11 AM

The problem is not that they can or can't beat anyone. They can. It's that they'd have to win 3 straight and we've seen in the past that's hard to do especially since an injury can derail it.

AFC playoff picture: Big games on tap in Week 13

Posted by Josh Alper on November 27, 2019, 8:05 AM EST

Quote:

The top of the AFC’s playoff picture has looked the same for some time now and there’s little reason to think the Patriots and Ravens won’t be able to remain in the top two spots.

What it will look like behind them is a bit less clear. Seven teams have five, six or seven wins to this point in the season and many of them will be playing each other in the coming weeks. That includes three games this weekend — Titans-Colts, Raiders-Chiefs and Browns-Steelers — that will have great impact on the eventual playoff competitors.

Those results will make the playoff picture clearer, but here’s how things stand after Week 12:

LEADERS
1. Patriots (10-1) Houston and Kansas City provide a pair of tough tests before things ease up in the final three weeks.

2. Ravens (9-2) If the 49ers can’t stop their offense, will anyone be able to shut them down this season?

3. Texans (7-4) They’re getting the Patriots at home this week while their closest divisional rivals face each other.

4. Chiefs (7-4) Got some help from the Jets against the Raiders and can all but finish the AFC West race this weekend.

5. Bills (8-3) The next four weeks are the toughest of the season for Buffalo, but they’ve put themselves in position to absorb a loss or two without fatally damaging their postseason bid.

6. Steelers (6-5) They benched their quarterback, but moved into playoff position ahead of a rematch with the Browns.

OUTSIDE LOOKING IN
7. Raiders (6-5) Didn’t do themselves any favors in Week 12, but a win in Kansas City would brighten the outlook considerably for the Raiders.

8. Colts (6-5) A win this week would give them a sweep of the Titans that might be a factor if they need to break a tie come Week 17.

9. Titans (6-5) They have the Colts, Raiders and Texans over the next three weeks, which gives them a chance to make a big jump up the ladder.

10. Browns (5-6) A win over the Steelers this week would be four in a row and a shot in the arm for their Wild Card bid.

11. Jaguars (4-7) They’ve given up 699 rushing yards the last three weeks to run themselves out of playoff contention.

12. Chargers (4-7) Derwin James is set to return, but it looks like too little too late.

13. Jets (4-7) With the Bengals and Dolphins on deck, the three-game winning streak may be getting longer.

14. Broncos (3-8) A potential start for Drew Lock is about as intriguing as it gets in Denver these days.

15. Dolphins (2-9) They technically remain alive in the playoff race, but they probably won’t be there for long.

ELIMINATED
16. Bengals (0-11) Andy Dalton‘s back in the saddle with a two-game edge on competitors for the top pick in the draft.

But the injury knife can cut either way. And the Chiefs have had their share already and are starting to get healthy with several folks going to be able to knock the rust off before the playoffs.

Having the bye means you get to play a team coming off a game. Like a few years ago when the Chiefs were one of the hottest teams in the league, but had Maclin and Houston go down in the WC round then had to go to NE.

Eight miss practice as Patriots deal with flu bug | ESPN

Key starters Patrick Chung (safety), Jamie Collins Sr. (linebacker), Stephon Gilmore (cornerback), Dont’a Hightower (linebacker) and Isaiah Wynn (left tackle) were among the eight players who missed practice. A ninth player, offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, was limited in practice due to illness.

You mean “when”. Now we lost our kicker.

If the Niners manage to beat Baltimore, and the Chiefs dont **** up against the Raiders, it might be Ravens at seed 1 via their win over the Pats, and the Chiefs one game back at seed 3. Then if the Chiefs beat the Pats, they’re only 1 game back of Baltimore with the head to head tiebreaker.

I don't know about much harder. They played the Rams and Seahawks, we played the Packers and Vikings. Both played Hou and will both play NE. The difference is the SF game but I don't know that it makes it a "much" harder schedule.

I've got a buddy that used to live in the Chicago suburbs and is a big Bears and Chiefs fan. He and I talked about going to the game. But, once the schedule came out and it was scheduled for week 16, we opted out. Too danged cold for me. Good luck selling them though. I bet that it's a good game.

Well, that prediction dies this weekend when the 49ers expose the fraud Ravens and take that ridiculous 14-2 prediction and makes it impossible.

San Fran is not travelling cross-country playing in an early time slot and winning in Baltimore. No way.
Their defense has given up the most points against mobile/running qbs (Wilson, Murray). Ravens by a TD+

Huge if he misses our game.

It's Jason who's out. Not nearly as big a deal as it would be if it was Devin.

But it doesn't matter. I see the Texans winning easily. So many things stacked against the Pats:

- crappy O-line
- underperforming offense and QB
- sick players
- new kicker
- return of Will Fuller giving Texans two WR threats
- road game
- inside knowledge of the Patriots (Bill O'Brien)
- Watson playing very well and in a style that gives the Pats fits (like Lamar)

I think this'll be a game like the Ravens game, where the Texans go up quickly by 17-0 and the Pats battle back to make it a little respectable but still lose 30-24 in a game that isn't as close as the score.

I can’t bring myself to root for the Patriots.

Don’t really want them coming off of a loss though. And obviously would prefer the 3 seed to the 4.

I see it as a win-win for us tonight no matter who wins, but if the Pats win it helps us statistically. That's my approach.

The three seed could lead to the Titans. Doubtful the four seed does. So at this point I’m fine with the four seed. In that scenario we get the Bills almost assuredly who don’t concern me.

However, the three seed and facing the Steelers would be my preferred path then the Patriots in the second round. Since I don’t really think the Texans are winning out and therefore their head to head victory won’t matter I will root for them tonight to get the Patriots to that two seed.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-01-2019 07:07 PM

I know Baltimore looks the best right now but I can’t get super excited about playing NE off of a bye. They’re just too well prepared in those situations, all situations. Meh.

Of course, the biggest thing to determine where I would wanna play is weather. Something we can’t predict right now accurately.

This. Pats win a close game and get beat the hell up in the process.

Then we swoop in and kick ass.

All ****ing day

Buffalo is just a Titans clone but quite a bit better probably. Defense is better, coaching is better, QB is better.

The only thing TEN has on them is Henry.

Titty Meat 12-01-2019 07:17 PM

I'm not going to concede we cant get a Bye just yet if the Pats lose tonight, they got us and Buffalo.

Baltimore still plays Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Still alot of season left and let's not pretend Jackson isnt getting hit more than any other QB in this league with as many carries as he gets too. Eventually it takes a toll.

Gravedigger 12-01-2019 07:20 PM

I don't think there is any path for us to get the 2 seed where we don't win out. Gotta take care of our business and let the rest fall where it will.

We aren’t jumping the Patriots, even with a win against them. Even if they get to four losses, then the Bills could conceivably win the division at 13-3 and would get the bye week. But if both are 12-4, as well as us, then our head to head over the Patriots doesn’t come into play because the division tiebreaker is done first which would still go to the Patriots so our victory and same record wouldn’t matter anyways. Really the only hope for a bye week is two losses from Baltimore and tonight’s game doesn’t affect that.

Not sure I understand this. If the Chiefs, Pats and Bills all wind up 12-4, and the Pats win the division tie breaker over the Bills, and we win the head to head over the Pats, how would that not give us a bye along with the Ravens (unless of course Houston finishes at 12-4 and they have the breaker over us).

And if a bye isn’t a possibility, when do we start thinking about resting banged up starters for the playoffs. The division is very close to being in hand.

Halfcan 12-01-2019 09:04 PM

I hope the Pats continue to get their asses kicked and Brady looking old.
