If KC can take care of Oakland on Sunday they will have a strangle hold on the division, which is step one. And let things go where they go in Dec. and Jan.
Looks like the Ravens are rolling but they could lose a game and only need to lose two for KC to be in the bye slot, but that could be tough to do. Also, KC will need to win out. A Pats loss to Hou and KC would help, but KC would still need another loss by the Pats. Either way, a win on Sunday basically gets KC in the dance. |

we don't want the frickin' 3 seed
we want the 2 seed or the 4 seed the only thing the three seed does for us is let baltimore beat the hell out of us a week before we likely have to play NE there's also the REMOTE possibility that if a lower seed beats the Patriots in the div we'd host them for the AFCCG but that almost never happens 4 seed or 2 seed |

The NFL has 4 objectives. #1. Drive ratings by ensuring Tom Tongue-kisser is in the most favorable post-season position...while creating chaos for the remaining seeds. This is the same in the NFC minus the TB12 (Kraft) angle. They have created a WWF-style adversary...where people tune in ...in hopes NE loses...only to have those dashed in a last-second ref bail-out. You better believe they will be tuning in next week...advertising,advertising, advertising. #2. Work the Vegas lines...the owners are making an insane amount of money, knowing in advance, who will take a dive. Off-shore, invisible anonymous accounts... The officials on the dole are getting in on the action too....it's a racket. #3. Satiate a megalo-miainical owner's power-lust need to be the "bestest ever"...a case of "short man" syndrome run amok. This is carried out by two "yes-man" moles hired by Kraft for this purpose...Goodell and Riveron. Kraft runs the NFL but answers to the power-brokers above him, He's a late entry into NFL ownership.....anyone that doesn't understand this...well. You cant have an owner visibly being CEO...so he hired Goodell to play the clown role. Multiple levels of protection...always. Nothing happened to him after getting busted....tells you who doesn't runs the shit-show. #4. Be a propaganda recruiting arm for the DOD....the standing for the anthem was a recent invention financed by the military. This "salute to service" month is the same objective. It's EXACTLY why Trump made a shit-fit over it.... Enjoy the rest of the season...greed kills everything with a soul. |

Face NE after a bye or Balt after a bye |
If the Chiefs win out, it would potentially knock the Pats to the 2 seed, if the Ravens win out as well.
Really, the Chiefs need to win out and hope the Ravens lose a couple. Whats really gonna chap everyone's ass here, is if the Chiefs do win out, the Ravens drop 2 and the Chiefs are the 2 seed.....essentially because of that Titans loss. |
you're still looking at a decent chance of hosting the AFCCG as the 2 seed
NE is beatable |
Quote:
But the Titans loss is already a killer.:shake: |
Quote:
But by the Texans? Or the Bills? Or the Titans? Nah. IF they get the 1 seed they'll be in the AFC champ game in Foxboro. It'll just depend on if it's Kc or Balt coming in. |
I just don't understand how you can make that second tripping call. it was a huge call that totally changed the game, and was clearly the wrong call. Like, how do you throw that flag?

I don't care what seed KC is. Most important thing is Mahomes and Hill being as close to 100% as possible.

NE has the Texans and us...then the Bengals on the road with the Dolphins and Bills at home.
13-3 is their absolute worst. We won’t jump them. The Ravens have the 49ers and then...the Bills, Browns and a backup QB led Steelers. A bye is basically a pipe dream at this point. Shouldn’t have lost to the Titans |
The Browns are playing pretty well and it will be the 2nd time they've seen the Ravens.
Chiefs have to win out to have a shot at the 2, I could see the Ravens dropping 2 of those games. |
Lets win on Sunday then worry about seeding. The most important thing is to get an invite to dance, not who your date is. There is no reason for the Chiefs to be scared of any team, I'd argue the reverse. The Chiefs have shown to be very explosive on offense and the D has shown occasional flashes. Not a scenario any team out there wants to face in a one-and-done game.
|
The problem is not that they can or can't beat anyone. They can. It's that they'd have to win 3 straight and we've seen in the past that's hard to do especially since an injury can derail it.

Eight miss practice as Patriots deal with flu bug | ESPN
Key starters Patrick Chung (safety), Jamie Collins Sr. (linebacker), Stephon Gilmore (cornerback), Dont’a Hightower (linebacker) and Isaiah Wynn (left tackle) were among the eight players who missed practice. A ninth player, offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, was limited in practice due to illness. Looks like the Texans are catching a BIG break. What happens if they manage to beat the Patriots? |
TY Hilton suffered a setback on his calf and is out Sunday vs. Tennessee.
Their season is teetering. Door opening for Tennessee.. |

Buffalo can beat us.

If the Niners manage to beat Baltimore, and the Chiefs dont **** up against the Raiders, it might be Ravens at seed 1 via their win over the Pats, and the Chiefs one game back at seed 3. Then if the Chiefs beat the Pats, they’re only 1 game back of Baltimore with the head to head tiebreaker. |
|
Well, that prediction dies this weekend when the 49ers expose the fraud Ravens and take that ridiculous 14-2 prediction and makes it impossible.

Their defense has given up the most points against mobile/running qbs (Wilson, Murray). Ravens by a TD+ |

But it doesn't matter. I see the Texans winning easily. So many things stacked against the Pats: - crappy O-line - underperforming offense and QB - sick players - new kicker - return of Will Fuller giving Texans two WR threats - road game - inside knowledge of the Patriots (Bill O'Brien) - Watson playing very well and in a style that gives the Pats fits (like Lamar) I think this'll be a game like the Ravens game, where the Texans go up quickly by 17-0 and the Pats battle back to make it a little respectable but still lose 30-24 in a game that isn't as close as the score. |

3 seed coming |

I can’t bring myself to root for the Patriots.
Don’t really want them coming off of a loss though. And obviously would prefer the 3 seed to the 4. |
Quote:

The three seed could lead to the Titans. Doubtful the four seed does. So at this point I’m fine with the four seed. In that scenario we get the Bills almost assuredly who don’t concern me.
However, the three seed and facing the Steelers would be my preferred path then the Patriots in the second round. Since I don’t really think the Texans are winning out and therefore their head to head victory won’t matter I will root for them tonight to get the Patriots to that two seed. |
I know Baltimore looks the best right now but I can’t get super excited about playing NE off of a bye. They’re just too well prepared in those situations, all situations. Meh.
Of course, the biggest thing to determine where I would wanna play is weather. Something we can’t predict right now accurately. |

Then we swoop in and kick ass. |
Quote:
Buffalo is just a Titans clone but quite a bit better probably. Defense is better, coaching is better, QB is better. The only thing TEN has on them is Henry. |
I'm not going to concede we cant get a Bye just yet if the Pats lose tonight, they got us and Buffalo.
Baltimore still plays Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Still alot of season left and let's not pretend Jackson isnt getting hit more than any other QB in this league with as many carries as he gets too. Eventually it takes a toll. |
I don't think there is any path for us to get the 2 seed where we don't win out. Gotta take care of our business and let the rest fall where it will.
|
Quote:
We aren’t jumping the Patriots, even with a win against them. Even if they get to four losses, then the Bills could conceivably win the division at 13-3 and would get the bye week. But if both are 12-4, as well as us, then our head to head over the Patriots doesn’t come into play because the division tiebreaker is done first which would still go to the Patriots so our victory and same record wouldn’t matter anyways. Really the only hope for a bye week is two losses from Baltimore and tonight’s game doesn’t affect that. |
Quote:
And if a bye isn’t a possibility, when do we start thinking about resting banged up starters for the playoffs. The division is very close to being in hand. |
I hope the Pats continue to get their asses kicked and Brady looking old.
