I don't get your hate for John, he's only ruthless when faced with ruthless opposition, and as we've seen this season there are some things he isn't cool with... like not wanting Jaime dead, and being furious with Beth about the envirochick

I don't really hate John, but shouldn't this show revolve around his character?
I mean if your ok with nods, sighs and looks of being disgruntled then John Duton has been great. Even his brief romantic interest was uninteresting.
Someone else said this but it rings true.

This feels like a season of Breaking Bad where we mostly watch Walter White just taking naps on the couch.

Must've missed that quote about John lol, thats funny

Definitely agree we need much more Costner going forward, dude was Action Jackson last season but largely MIA this year

I assumed that was the train station spot, but can't recall if that was confirmed... Did they mention anything about train station before that happened?

I didn't know that Jamie knew where the train station was... maybe he made it there during a previous season that I had forgotten about.

One would think that Jamie would NOT be trusted with the burial site of the families victims...

Any time they cross the border into Wyoming, thats the train station

It was pretty lazy writing, but it wouldn't surprise me to think they both knew where that spot was, they've alluded to the fact Jaime knows where the bodies are buried and likely made a few deposits of his own there

lol at so many people taking this show so seriously. Its literally like a far fetched violent soap opera filled with characters that like to throw out F bombs at each other.LMAO Folks in here and on other forums are way over thinking this show and over analyzing it.

Just like Ozark its fictional unrealistic entertainment.

I don't even know how Taylor Sheridan finds time to sleep (between Yellowstone, Yellowstone's prequel show 1883, Mayor of Kingstown and various other film projects in the works) he is a machine at this point.

https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/yel...gs-1235147032/

I gave Hell or High Water a re watch last night on Netflix and can't get enough of that film. Sure bank robbery films have been done to death but there was something so fresh and unique about Hell or High Water. The chemistry between Bridges and his partner was so authentic as well as the chemistry between the two bank robbing brothers (they were quite funny too) Sheridan's Oscar nom for Best Original Screenplay was well deserved (ditto on its Best Picture nom and Jeff Bridges' Oscar nom)

Anyways sorry for getting off topic but I think Taylor Sheridan is one of the most talented artists in Hollywood and we're lucky to have him.

Its obvious to me he did his sleeping during this 4th season. He may still be snoring.

lewdog 01-06-2022 06:22 PM

I liked that golden dress.

Only high point of the season.

kevrunner 01-06-2022 09:05 PM

If I had to bet, I would have lost a lot of $$$, I was sure that Walker wasn’t going to make it thru the season. Rip seeing Walker appearing to be serenading Beth, I thought Walker earned himself a 1st class ticket to the Train Station, and this time Kaycee wasn’t going to be the one taking him.

I thought the same thing at first, but Walker has seemingly earned his place, and Rip now trusts that she wasn't trying to bang him again

lol I knew she is British I've seen in a number of stuff well before Yellowstone and she was always rocking a British accent (she played Waton's fiance in those Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law and some other British stuff like that messed up horror film Eden Lake and other stuff)

but yeah those Brits make it look easy.

1883 - New ep knew what buttons to push for me. Ever since Lonesome Dove sent Gus to the great beyond somewhere in Nebraska, I'm a sucker for a prairie gunfight.

Also, looks like ol' Tyler growed hissef an epic beard.

Shit I thought she was 45. She just doesn't do it for me. I really despise her character. She hasn't killed anyone that I can see but she at least feels like the most evil person on the show. She was completely insufferable the 1st two seasons but I imagine witers/Sheridan saw that and worked to make her more appealing. Still hasn't worked that much. The only character I like is Kayce. I used to feel bad for Jamie and root for him but theyve made him such a bitch now.

Her fake ass Texas accent was just the worst. That annoyed the hell out of me.

Ending was really good. Got pretty boring in the middle. 1883 John Dutton > 2021 John Dutton. He such a bad ass.

I have to say Tim McGraw was excellent as James. Faith was fine as Margaret as well. Sam Elliot is awesome. The girl playing Elsa was very good as well in the character, I just wish all the narration didn't sound so much differently in how it was recorded than on screen. She sounded like a husky oversouthern drawl in the narration and it didn't match her talking live.

I noticed that as well. Particularly over pronouncing the accent on words starting with Wh.

Haven’t read through this thread but wife and I have watched all seasons. Disappointed in this last season as it was fairly uneventful and I didn’t like some of the character changes. New writers?

On another note I went hunting in Montana and spent almost 2 weeks in north Yellowstone near the MT/Wyoming border and couldn’t find a single resident who watches the show lol. One person said he watched the first 2 episodes and decided it was “too much drama.”

Big update;

First off, there was no 'season 2' for 1883, at least not initially.

The story we got from the spinoff of Yellowstone was supposed to be a limited series completed in those 10 episodes.

Now Sheridan is presenting his rumored Bass Reeves story, that was supposed to be another separate property as 1883: The Bass Reeves Era.

No details on overlap or connections.

For those who don't know, Bass Reeves was the face of law and order in the West in the later half of the 19th century. A black man who rose to US Marshall, he was the basis for The Lone Ranger, or at the very least his history most closely tracks the stories told of The Lone Ranger.

The kid actor who plays Carter really grew up since the last time we saw him in an episode, I actually had to google and make sure it was the same person at first. Also on the flashback scenes, the actor who plays Lloyd does a great impression and really nails it.

Yeah, if Beth hasn't jumped the shark already, she's damn close to it.

Like you said, from a strictly character growth perspective, she's just completely stalled out. And hell, maybe that's Sheridan's point - she's just broken to the point that she's stuck in neutral.

But I think the more likely answer is that "Slay QWEEEN!" earns him eyes and social media attention so they shall continue to have Beth toss of pithy one-liners and otherwise be a **** for little to no reason.

Molitoth 11-17-2022 03:02 PM

Beth is a character I like the least...

Some other old perverts I know LOVE her slutty attitude.
I think they just hit a market with older submissive men who are attracted to absolute bitches. (for whatever reason that is)

Chiefspants 11-17-2022 11:04 PM

I just have to wonder how much bandwidth Sheridan is giving this show at this point.
