I want to bang a super model. It doesn't mean it would happen.

The Chiefs wouldn't give Mahomes up for two first round picks from Cleveland, much less a 1st and 4th.

Cool beans. Take Darnold or Rosen #1, or throw ****tons of cash at Cousins, or give us a 2nd for Smith. There's no way Mahomes goes to the Browns.

He said 1 and 4 in reference to both of the Browns first round picks and I’m sure he is trolling.

Not first choice, but I think it would be a fun adventure for Alex to go to the Brownies.

He's a stupid **** if to not retire, but if he keeps going.. Cleveland becoming an AFC contender would happen with him.. and that would be amusing. Someone has to end the QB graveyard there. Hell, if LaBron can go to Cleveland, and save that bunch... why not Alex too? lol... Who else better qualified to bring a dormant team to life yet again?

:)

kcxiv 01-12-2018 08:40 PM

how the **** do you put Alex Smith and Lebron James in the same sentence. One guy Is the cream of the crop all time at his sport the other guy is fools gold. Alex may look good at times, it might be shiny, but in the end its not worth shit.

Exactly. And Alex is probably the best option to start game 1 of 2018 for them and “solidify the position” while a rookie is groomed.

You are quoting yourself as if you were right about anything.

The Browns, Broncos, and Redskins made offers. He didn't go to the Broncos because the Chiefs didnt want to trade him to a division rival. From what I've read the Browns offered a better deal that included multiple picks including one of their 2nd rounders, but the Chiefs gave Alex the choice between the Browns and Redskins and he chose the Redskins because they were offering a long term deal.

You weren't right about anything.

Watching the Browns evolve as Veach moves forward with the Chiefs is a very intriguing thing to watch. I'm sure we're all interested to see how this plays out. Was firing dorsey the right move, time will tell. Of course dorsey doesn't have Reid now and that needs to be taken into consideration. but he's sure putting the pieces there for his HC.

Well, he did here as well. He is good at the quick turn-around, and he had a crazy amount of draft picks and cap space there.

The question, and this is where I think he failed here, is what he does the next couple years and the types of moves and signings he does.

But he is good at getting a team competitive quickly.

Same with Mahomes. All these playoff losses, even at home, have battered the fan base to the edge. Getting a QOTF saved the fan base from huge losses and empty seats.

But, that just bought us time. If Mahomes fails, he throws out his shoulder, hit by a bus etc. the fan base will go into full meltdown that will take a decade to recover.

Tyrod Taylor is not a bad qb to Alex Smith the franchise. That is... Be good enough for the team to not suck and actually be competitive. There isn't as much pressure as you might think. If Dorsey gets that team even close to 8-8, then he will be safe for a while.

The big takeaway from last night for sure is that hue Jackson doesn't inspire any confidence whatsoever. Good offensive coach. Way too soft to be a head coach. And his coaching staff knows it.

How do you figure? He never did that in Pittsburgh and even turned down interview opportunities for other head coaching jobs. He got along very well with whisenhunt and Tomlin. I don't think he's a weasel. In this case, I think he's so philosophically different in that he wants his team to be tough and hue wants to be a players coach.

I think he’ll be solid. I just don’t know if his upside is that high. Also, how will he respond to adversity?

Why isn't his upside high? He's an accurate thrower with a nice strong arm and seems to be pretty smart.

When you watch his college tape, and even that first preseason game, most of his “highlights” come with great protection. When he’s pressured, he struggles and doesn’t look like the same guy. Kind of reminds me of Carr in that regard, who I also think has limited upside.

Which QB doesn't struggle when pressured?

He reminds me a lot of Tony Romo

That's not bad.

Realistically I doubt he ever gets to that point because Brees and Romo were legit, but he's off to a good start.

Obviously they all do, but when it’s night and day, that’s concerning. Most QB’s also don’t have great projection week in and week out. Mayfield either has great protection and he looks good, or he’s being pressured and he looks like a completely different guy.

Do you not see the difference in a guy like Carr vs. Brees under pressure?

Sure, but Brees is a hall of famer against the blitz. If that's the standard we're having, well, most people are gonna struggle.

I don't know if that's something you can improve on though is the problem. Maybe an experience thing.

Yea that’s all I’m really saying. I just don’t know how fixable that is, and it would the difference in a Tier 1/Tier 2 QB.

Tier 2 is still a huge ****ing win for Cleveland.

staylor26 08-21-2018 11:33 AM

Just to expand on that, like I said most of Mayfield’s success comes with great protection which we know he’s not going to get early on aim Cleveland.

How does he deal with the adversity of playing behind a below average OL week in and week out?

His personality scares me a little when thinking about that.

Legit tier one guys are hall of fame type guys. I don’t think you ever go in expecting that. Especially in Cleveland at this point.

Hell if he’s alex smith that’s a huge win

He's definitely going to be better than Alex Smith. But I doubt as good as Brees. Whose the comp inbetween those two? That's him. Romo seems about right I guess.

No doubt, and I’m not so sure he’ll even be a tier 2 QB. I’m just saying that’s where his ceiling is at best IMO.

His play under pressure has always been touted as one of his biggest strengths.
