I've said for the longest time that the Hunts are strictally business men, and if it weren't for mandates from the NFL, they'd run the Chiefs exactly like Glass runs the Royals.
|
Fox enjoyed him so much they're having him on again twice tonight. I'm a little proud of being a part of this. Good on him. The Chiefs were way out of line with that. I don't care who runs it, it's the official ****ing account which makes it THE voice of The Kansas City Chiefs.

It's pretty damn sad that when you go to Arrowhead, all the pictures, videos, trophies, image stuff is from teams that played 40 years ago. 40...years...ago.
The only teams that even compare on the long term failure scale are the Jets, Browns and Lions. Everyone else, including expansion teams, have gone farther than KC. Hard to believe, really. But its true. Of course, being in the same division as John Elway in the 1990s was a very bad break. |

This guys looks has everything to do with it. Take this thread for example, there 20 .gifs of him in 5 seconds based off a video of him doing some Joey Lawrence "Woah" motion. I'd say this thread itself is basing his actions off his looks alone. And yeah, if the dude is going to sit behind a computer and throw a bunch of threats and cuss words out towards some "official organization" then looks do come into play. I'll put in this perspective, you say that guy runs a company, I'd have no problem walking up to him in a bar and telling him his company is a pile of shit, and I am judging him based off his looks. Why? Because I have no fear in terms of how he looks, like Dane said, he's not an MMA fighter. Twitter/Social Media and Computer Muscles go hand in hand. My original argument was this guy wouldnt say this to anyone, in person. And I stand by that because it just doesn't happen in real life. the Computer World, yes. |

Just for the record.
I hope this is nominated for Hall of Classics....because even though it may never see a really really large post count (though it may who knows) like some of the other Hall of Classic threads, this one has certainly been the funnest thread I've been in since the Midnight Vulture thread. |

He has EVERY RIGHT to post his opinion via any customer contact mechanism they have, including Twitter. He's a CUSTOMER. |
Couple this behavior along with keeping Cassel as our QB to go with Pioli being nothing more than Carl Peterson Part Deux (only hiring coaches and players that come from that vaunted Patriots Tree, just as Carl did with all of his coaches), and you have the reason why I absolutely, positively will not pay for a ticket to watch the Chiefs while Clark holds on to Pioli and his regime. It's sad, too, because I love going to the games (and my boy dtebbe took care of my ticket needs for a number of years).
I refuse to endorse a program that does not have winning as a priority with my hard earned cash. I'll believe Pioli is interested in winning when he flushes all the coaches and players he played with in New England, and I'll believe Clark is interested in winning when he flushes Pioli when he finally concludes that it was Brady and Belichick are the reasons New England is successful, which will likely be never. |
What a load of crap.... they haven't had a playoff win since Naughty By Nature was down with OPP. Hunt.. fail

To add to the pile - someone created a fake Chiefs PR Twitter account and is tweeting some comedy gold. Some examples:
Chiefs PR @FakeChiefs_PR @teedubya why don't you come on down to the loudest stadium in the NFL and share a couple $9 brewskies with me? #ifyousaynoimfired Chiefs PR @FakeChiefs_PR @teedubya what if I throw in a sweet personalized "Get a Clue" Chiefs jersey to really smooth things over (just bring me $300) #pocketchange Chiefs PR @FakeChiefs_PR Why is everybody so upset? Was your $27 parking experience that bad? We want your feedback #chiefs fans! Chiefs PR @FakeChiefs_PR @bfett81 I'm just tryin to keep my job.. can't tell you how many candy wrappers I've picked up today Chiefs PR @FakeChiefs_PR Cap space shmap space.. now who wants a sweet new jersey! #chiefs He's (I'll assume it's a he) been talking with Goatse a bit, so my money is on him being behind the account. If not, which one of you funny ****s is it? |

Deberg1990 has already said this, but the Chiefs do have all of the leverage here.
The Chiefs official twitter guy is absolutely 100% right. He shouldn't have said what he did but he's got a point. This will all be forgotten by most Kansas Citians in a couple of weeks, esp if the Chiefs win their next couple games and the team starts winning. Now if they continue to play like shit on defense and Matt Cassel continues to only turn in one good half of football before completely shitting his pants, then this thing may indeed blow up around town, on talk radio etc. Has Parkins, Fescoe, KK or anyone talked about this yet? (Man what a joke of a lineup we have for sports talk radio here in KC LMAO). If the Chiefs keep losing, this story will get bigger and bigger and it will be more talked about. But winning fixes everything. Too bad the Chiefs haven't won anything in a while, which is part of TW's point. This franchise should send thank you letters to the Glass family. Because the Chiefs are totally taking advantage that there's nothing else in KC that can compete w/ the Chiefs sports wise. Sporting KC is considered by many around here to be the model sports franchise in terms of ownership/fan relations, etc, but soccer sucks in general and won't ever compete with the Chiefs, or even the Royals for that matter. Just look at STL. They're a baseball town. No one in that town gives a shit about the Rams. STL fans will disagree with this but it's 100% true. I lived around them for almost 10 yrs and they could give a shit about football season. So much so that the franchise has considered moving on more than 1 occasion. Could you ****ing imagine the possible meltdown in KC, or especially on Chiefsplanet if there was a remote possibility of KC moving to LA??? It would sure ease the stress out of a lot of us on fall Sunday afternoons, but we'd all be heartbroken, and I don't know if this site would continue to exist (possibly it would but who knows, eventually the interest of the team would die out I would think over time). The point is, the Chiefs own this town and the NFL interest and product has gotten so big in today's American culture/society (and obviously the Chiefs and the NFL know this), that the Chiefs are taking full advantage of the fact that we as fans have nothing else to turn to. If the Royals were good and playoff contenders, I think it would be a different story since the baseball playoff season runs into almost half of the football season. The Chiefs don't have to worry about that. Most of the people in KC wouldn't be able to tell you off hand what the Royals record is in baseball. Probably couldn't even come close to doing so. I know they've played about 140 games, but I heard that from some Sportscenter guy while talking about another team. If I were to guess I think the Royals were 15 games under .500 ball. So considering 70-70 is .500 ball I'd figure the Royals were about 55-75 at the moment. The point is I haven't followed the Royals since the ASG, and I'm probably in the same boat as a lot of people. This isn't going to hurt the Chiefs. I'm sure that twitter guy will be dealt with behind closed doors, but overall this won't change a damn thing. The NFL and Chiefs have a monopoly on the sport of pro football here in KC. Ultimately the Chiefs don't give a shit because people are still willing to shell out hundreds and thousands of dollars to support this team and until that moment when Arrowhead is a ghost town like in the 80's, and the TV blackouts start coming in, Clark will either do something about it and spend money to build an actual winning team, or he will pack up his shit, pay the fines for breaking the lease to Jackson Co. and move the team elsewhere to a larger market (being kind of therhetical here, I don't even know if this is a real option - I know the league would have to approve but I really don't know if the Chiefs could legally leave KC by just paying a large fine, or if Clark's financially forced to have the franchise stay up because of the lost money involved - i dunno). |
tl;dr
|
I think people have every right to complain. If I understand correctly, the taxpayers own the ****ing stadium where Clark gets to make his millions. Even though they are privately owned, taxpayers have aided and provided a site for Hunt and Glass to operate. **** em both

You clearly have no perspective if you think that's the case. |
Boston's giant sports radio station (WEEI) not only mentioned this affair, but had a lengthy on-air discussion about it (ripping the Chiefs organization for the whole mess).

sink or swim .....
|
Given the things heard and seen coming out of the mouth of the face of this team the past 3 years (Todd Haley for you slow readers) they have no business giving half of a dook about a little anger and language tossed their way.
Show me sincere attempts at buying talent. Show me a contender for the AFCW for reasons other than other failing teams. For the love of God, show me a playoff win before I die. |
If it leads to real change, then we can all sit back and from behind the FEMA barbed wire as TW marches on, a free man.
|
There are too many homer fans because the NFL has gotten so popular. These fans don't know much about football and enjoy spending money to go to games just to get ****ed up.
It won't be until a severe drop in attendance happens that things will change and I don't see that happening with many NFL teams, especially not with a franchise like the Chiefs who seem to have some of the most patient fans in the entire league. |

I think the point has been touched upon already but the fact Teedubya used a vendor badge to enter Arrowhead over the course of years and freely admits doing so on this site makes it kind of ironic that he's bagging on the Chiefs for being cheap.
|
LOL...I just received this RSS feed some time ago and saw that it was a ChiefsPlanet member. Awesome.
Here's the link: http://mashable.com/2012/09/12/nfl-f...%28Mashable%29 Includes a handsome pic of teedubya. Nice work! :thumb: |
Hey, teedubya, I'll give you ten bucks if you'll run a series of flattering articles about my company.
If you'd rather have casino cash or rep, I can go that route, too. It'll save us both some tax hassles with receipts and stuff. |
I'm actually proud of TW, not only for making this a discussion point locally and nationally, but because he's really grown as a person. Social Media Director for a Fortune 500 company is something to be proud of and I'm glad to hear he's doing well.
He's a come a long, long way. Congrats, Dude! :thumb: |

--- I applaud teedubya for saying what is on his, and most fans, minds about the current state of this ****tastic team. Now that I am a STH, I get uber frustrated because though I have the cheapest tickets in the house... I still drive 3.5 hours to pay $27 for parking with not a ****ing soul in sight directing traffic. $50 in drinks and food for tailgating because I'm not going to pay $50 for a burger, fries, and a single beer in the stadium. Don't forget the two tanks of gas to get there and back. Week 1, I parked 3300 feet from the stadium and my 80 year old FIL trucked our way into the stadium and found that there were a dick ton of open parking spots because the lot attendants couldn't be bothered with actually trying to fill the ****ing parking lot. When we get into the stadium, we inquire about an elevator to the top floor and 8 ****ing employees had not the foggiest idea where it was. The whole organization from the GM down to the ticket takers feel zero ownership in their interactions with the fans and what little they do for us is nothing more than a marketing ploy to get people's money. This organization as a whole ****ing sucks and until they realize how poorly they treat the fans, both by the product they put on the field as well as their interactions with the fans when camera's aren't on speak volumes about how they view the people that spend their hard earned money on a team that is obviously more concerned with making money than actually accomplishing what sports are, in the end, all about. ****ING WINNING. But... it is my choice to be a fan. SMH |
I agree. It's tough. I was merely commenting on the ironic value. I don't really care otherwise.

On my work I was listening to the Andy and Ferman show and they brought this up. 970 AM same radio station as Jim Rome and Dan Patrick. It's already being talked about in Los Angeles lol.

Teams across the league are putting up 35-45 points a game and if we can't produce to keep up or find a way to slow them down enough to win we are truly ****ed. There is no evidence to suggest our offense can produce that much points on a weekly basis. Likewise no evidence our defense can be strong enough to hold back teams onslaught. Right now all we got to hope for is that Tamba Hali can be that difference maker in games and also soon the return of Flowers. At no point can we put our trust in the hands of Matt Cassel let alone the other two riff raf back ups. Sure I think we can turn it around, but that's just my homer speaking out loud. |
Next year the mother****er is going to be applauded by the masses of dumbasses because he'll increase spending by quite a bit, but only because he's being forced too through the CBA.

Teedubya Rocks!
|
Conspiracy!
I watched a youtube video that clearly shows that teedubya and the chiefs were online at the same time. This is obviously a conspiracy between he and the Chiefs organization to distract the fanbase from the subpar play of the team on the field and the lack of action by management and ownership to bring in and retain quality staff. Internal demolition charges can be visibly seen detonating the fact that Chief fans have not seen a playoff win since 1994. Petro is talking about this now. |
Give the fans back football. We want to watch football. Hire a GM who doesn't think he has cured cancer. Draft a QB.
|
It's too bad the Chiefs didn't fight back as much last sunday vs Atlanta as the twitter guy.

Quote:
Why? Because they already spend well over the minimum spending amount that will go into effect. How? Because the minimum amount will be measured by cash spending, not salary cap room. Those two things have nothing to do with each other. What? The Chiefs spend far more money than anyone thinks they do. But as this thread perfectly encapsulates, 99% of the general public thinks that if a team has ample cap room, they must not be spending money. Why? Not sure, but I suspect inbreeding. Hey! J/K lol. |

If he was that savvy a spender, we wouldn't suck in the first place. Why is he going to spend that extra $20 million any wiser than he spent the first $120? At some point the discussion needs to shift from "They don't spend money" to "They spend money foolishly because Pioli is incompetent". Unless someone in the media starts making this point, I guess it'll happen around February when the dream of CBA-forced spending officially ends. |
