Yeah, but Notre Dame doesn't want to give up their "independent status". As a Notre Dame fan...I'm hoping they just shutup and take the invite.

According to 810whb, the Big 10 initially showed "some" interest in KU but they said they won't go anywhere without KSU.

I don't blame them. If it were UW looking to switch, I'd be upset if they made a move without WSU. You can't walk away from your in state rivals. Good for KU.

Good for KU, what to stand up for the less fortunate...

bullshit .... both schools are going to end up in the mid-valley or some worthless ass conference if they aren't careful.

If the Big 10 expands to 16 then it's going to start musical chair for the major conferences. Heck, it could even end up with the major conferences dumping the BCS NCAA and having their own gig.

If KU ends up without a seat at the big table because stinking KSU then i'm gonna put a cap in somebody's azz. :cuss:

It's going to be a while before we know anything for sure, from what I'm hearing it's going to be around the end of the summer at the soonest.

I think all you Kansas types should look upon this as an opportunity. After we've moved on to the Big 10, we'll no longer be rivals, so you can all root for Missouri in much the same way you root for our professional teams!

I cheer for Kansas City teams because I live in KC. See, I get the best of both worlds that way: better schooling, better roads, cleaner state without the magnitudes of methheads and gas stations filled with white trash. It's a win win for me.

It's a good gig for you guys going to Big 10, so congratulations on that. We'll still be enjoying our school's greater success as Jayhawks over here while you clean the glass of that oh so empty trophy case. :thumb:

How so? Because I don't live in ONE of Missouri's counties that pays a certain tax? If you don't live in that county, you're just as much of a parasite, Mr. KC/St. Louis fan who lives in Illinois. So why don't go back to being a fan of a worthless athletic department. :)

Illinois has professional teams. At least I'm paying for something.

To be fair, KS farmers' subsidized contributions to the industrial food system are, while damaging in different ways, not really any less damaging that MO's meth. And it isn't like KS doesn't have meth problems.

Oh, I'm all for the Chiefs moving down to JOCO. I would gladly pay more taxes (kind of like I do for better schools and roads). I think you misunderstood my "best of both worlds" comment. It's not that I'm worried about paying the tax, I'm just happy I don't have to live in Missouri to be a fan of a Kansas City team. I'm not a fan of anything St. Louis for example. Besides, haven't we already talked about the irony of the only 2 Missouri markets being shared with other states?

This is a very old and tired argument. I don't know why you always bring up pro teams when we talk about our respective schools. Well, actually I do, and the reason makes me smile.

The Chiefs and Royals would not be able to make it w/out the help of Kansas residents, and vice versa. Kansas residents are about 40-50% of the population of the greater Kansas City area. You seem to think that people in Kansas, shouldn't root for the KC area pro teams.

We'll see what happens. If it comes to that, Memphis did just fine as a basketball powerhouse being a mid-major. We'll be aight. I don't think KU basketball is going anywhere. But neither are MU's teams (see what I did there, hehe?).

This post: In which the author posits that the KC sports fans who get the most out of all of Kansas City are those who don't hold die-hard allegiances to either Mizzou or KU. Like the author, for example. The author, while admittedly an MU fan, doesn't hate KU (or KSU). The author has no problem with going into Kansas for things he enjoys, though he has to cede that Johnson County white flight has historically and currently ****ed over KC at-large. The author wishes to emphasize a certain point: "**** Whitey."

Oh I'm sure they have meth labs out here; in the summer that crap probably cooks itself. But when the highways are full of vehicles importing cheap pot and cocaine from Mexico the competition is fierce.

It hasn't been for a long time. CA is probably the capital of meth, per capita. The whole game changed when the feds hammered down on psuedoephedrine. Suddenly, the crank and "Nazi Cold" meth that people could easily make themselves became endangered. The country is now relying mostly on cartel meth that comes in from Mexico. Weed is the cartel's largest focus, yes, but people really underestimate how much of the meth game is run out of Mexico these days.

Arizona is the Meth Capitol. They loves their "G"!

(They call it "G" because they are ghey and from Arizona)
(It's sad really...)

You seem to know quite a bit about meth activity patterns. Just saying, Reaper...

I work in drug addiction treatment, so I am kept knowledgeable about what's going on in the streets.

Kietzman takes the KU fans for ride. Again. The true part is both schools could very well be on the outside looking in if the conference realignment does start.

Personally, I think the Big 10 is forcing ND's hand. By threatening to tear up the Big East they leave ND no major conference alignment for basketball.

If they get ND football, they'll have nationwide footprint and revenue w/o the diminishing returns of having to invite four more teams.
