We got one almost identical to this one below. It is a 2018 Cardinal 3456RL. I don't have any photos myself right now but the one we have is same color and everything.

We are supposed to stay at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach here in April. I am trying to figure out a way to get my UTV down there with me. They just don't allow double towing in NC or SC so I am SOL there. My truck has plenty of juice to pull it too but just not sure how I can do it.

I know you can get Idaho Totes, which are like an extension of the frame instead of a trailer, but those are fairly pricey. I was trying to find some other option.

Nice rig! I’ve thought about double towing I think it’s limited to 65’ for us truck and trailers.

Sounds like you need the wife to drive separate lol

Like I said before, they're really expensive pieces of shit. Sometimes it's almost like they built it on a Friday. Always wondering when the next thing will go wrong/break.

We made the final tour before signing. After we had it about a month the GF noticed one of the windows didn't have a screen in one of the windows. ROFL. We generally don't open the windows anyway, so it's no big deal, but just funny.

I bought a new truck in 2012 and it had 3 free months of XM. When that ran out, I reaalized the antenna was missing. lol Shit happens.

Used to lease my trucks. Every 3 years, get a new one. Under warranty, don't replace shit, etc. Did it for 20 years.

The truck before this one I think, me and the GF were going somewhere. She asked why I kept my book of cd's in there. I said if I ever wanted to listen to them.

She says, you don't have a CD player. Damn if she wasn't right.

Yeah, I have been trying to avoid that at all costs but I might have to.

Went the budget route and bought a 2013 28’ work play so I can haul my Honda pioneer and sons Honda 250ex. Got it for 9k in February and have a little over 1300 miles on it and 12 nights so far. It’s currently parked on my dad’s lake property for the summer. It doesn’t have a built in so I just bought a Wen 4800 inverter generator. Very pleased with it for the one night I’ve run it.

Just pulled home my buddies 32’ cougar. Holy ****ing shit it’s heavy compared to my little aerodynamic rig.

Well I took a 500$ deposit on this sweet little rig today. Buying a 2013 XLR viper from my dad. He’s moving to a 2005 Holliday rambler 38 foot motorhome with a Cummins/allison combo now that he’s retiring. Only 44k miles and has been sitting for a long while. We’ve got a few kinks to work out and it’s not perfect cosmetically but will be perfect for atv riding and hanging at the lake.

Just reserved a camp ground at cucumber creek in smithville ok. I really bumped the thread to ask for mattress recommendations. Pros cons of a full size queen vs and camper queen and what’s everyone using?

I always assume people with RV's are rich.

It costs more to travel with those things than it is to just get a hotel room.

It depends. If you're not investing a lot of time in it, it's an expensive hobby. However, over the years we've met a lot of people that live like nomads in their motorhomes. Those people aren't rich. They're essentially migrant workers.

Can't believe I've never seen this thread.

We got a 28' travel trailer (Keystone Passport) about 4 years ago. We love it but it's a lot of work. We've had quite a few issues with build quality, especially plumbing but most of those are worked out. There's just a lot to maintain. Fortunately, we don't roam. We find a spot and park for a couple of months. Cuts down on the work some.

I take mine on several riding trips a year. Usually there aren’t hotels within 40-50 miles. Or like little Sahara there’s only a few hotels and they’re booked months in advance. Then we park it June, July, august and into September on lake Hudson in Salina Oklahoma. Stay at least one night a weekend there. I can park for free and have to use the generator but it justifies the money to me. I’ve only got 12-13k in my camper. Going on year two of that many weekends at the lake I’ve come close to breaking even. But that’s not counting the upgraded truck costs. I’d have a half ton of not for the camper.

That's a great point. You have to pull it.

We've got an Infiniti QX80 which is a pretty expensive option for doing basically nothing but pulling a camper.

Dunerdr 03-17-2025 01:19 PM

Honestly I’d have just as expensive of a truck probably but newer.

Got the new to me XLR viper toy hauler out last weekend. Extremely pleased. So much more room than the 27’ work and play I just sold. Measures 36’ over all. It was a new experience driving this tall bastard west on 40 in 40mph gusts out of the south. A semi almost blew into me.

Rain Man 04-18-2025 10:43 PM

A person could live in that thing and travel full time. I wonder if anyone has ever thought of doing that.

Dunerdr 04-18-2025 10:58 PM

My wife’s ready to travel.

I don’t to live in it with two kids. But I may end up at the Google site behind Worlds of fun. . And would live in it short term while I sold my home near Tulsa.
