It's the nature of fandom.
People wanted Sutton fired after 2017 and he eventually did after 2018.
He still fielded probably the best 3-year stretch of defense the Chiefs had since the early 90's when he had his best players on the field.
AT BEST, assistant coaches are somewhat involved in actual wins and losses. Mostly, they're just there to do detail work that the HC doesn't have time to do. It's delegation.
At the end of the day, you're going to win or lose with the talent on the field. Coaching is icing on the cake.

I don't blame a RB OC to call passing plays an entire half when we were running it with 10 yards a carry up the gut in the first half. I agree coaches call the plays but players have to execute those plays but if a coach refuses to make adjustments to help the players or put them in better position to be successful.
I'm sticking with Andy Reid is the Head Coach and to blame for second half debacle and also Patrick Mahomes for not having his head in the game.
I also give credit to the Bengals as they were better prepared mentally had a better game plan knowing Andy Reid historically living by the passing game.
I remember when we hired Andy in the pressers he talked about passing on first second and third down. If it's third and inches he'd rather call a pass play.
Throwing EB under the bus just looks bad for us fans and makes excuses. Other teams are pointing and laughing at us for blowing a 21-3 lead even though it was 21-10 at half. We didn't capitalize when we had the opportunity to put them away.
