He could take over right now but I imagine he will next season since Hitchens' dead money drops from $14M to $4M after this year.

Precisely.

Sometimes it happens.

It's like the Raiders with Ferrell and Crosby. They both play to the other's draft status. It happens.

Agree. This last year has really changed my mind on things. I used to think positional versatility was wise but getting good players matters more, especially if you don’t reach for a position simply based on the position.

Nick Bolton is the perfect example of that

The 3 stars (Mahomes, Kelce, Tyreek) took over the game in 4Q/OT but the play of LB Nick Bolton allowed them to have that opportunity. The thing is, the two concepts are complimentary.

Having a true FS like Thornhill, for example, allows you to play a versatile guy like Matthieu. Having a guy like Bolton allows you to take better advantage of Gay's athleticism and versatility.

He’s a stud and he’s going to be one of the league’s best MLBs.

Me want gifs of Bolton doing football things.

Please.

Many of us have been preaching about this guy for a while.

Kids a baller.

I got my years mixed up. I meant 2022. I fully expect him to be the man in the middle next year, and hopefully last night proves to them that they can live with Gay or Bolton in the dime package.

tipping the ball for Hitch to play

That hit he put on Mike Williams in the first quarter was a real tone setter. Williams had to leave the game for the rest of that series and didn't make another catch across the middle IIRC.

Wow.

Honestly, Nick Bolton gives me just as much of a rock hard boner as his cousin

Michael Bolton does.

Nick Bolton now has 102 tackles.

The last Chiefs LB to do that was Derrick Johnson SIX YEARS AGO.

This past draft looks like a big win for the team. 3 guys starting, all 3 playing at a super high level.

Plus notice how many snaps Noah Gray is getting now? He was seemingly on the field all the time last night. It's only a matter of time before he starts getting some targets.

I dont know if they are doing it to get him ready to spell Kelce and keep him fresh, or just trying to sharpen another weapon for the playoff run.
