Her description was ridiculous:

"I carefully unwrapped this precious vase ( how else would you unwrap it bitch) and was shocked beyond belief that it was shipped broken. (How do you assume the seller shipped a broken vase) It was barely wrapped and loose in the box (both lies) and was appalled at such shoddy packaging. (which now indicates it was broken in transit because of packing) I was so disappointed I was almost in tears!!! (really, over a vase) I have never seen a vase so poorly packed, plus I nearly suffered a severe cut from the broken glass. (wow, such a traumatic experience) This has been one of the most dangerous packages I have ever handled as glass could have gone all over my house. ROFL

😂at saying she “almost” suffered a severe cut. She didn’t get cut at all, but it was almost severe. It’s like if it broke apart mid-air.

Update...

Almost two months and still no shoes... I'm all but certain this is fallout from the trade war.

Don't buy from Chinese sellers on Ebay, you might regret it, I know I do... Pay more and buy it from somebody not-China.

Done. I wouldn’t consider anything with a shipping location outside the is to start with.

I've bought some pretty big ticket stuff off ebay.

Some electronics, a diamond and my Camaro all came off Ebay and with no real issues. Had the diamond independently appraised and it came in over what the Seller appraised it at by a couple hundred bucks - seller was even up front about the placement of an inclusion and whether a prong could hid it (it could and did). The Camaro purchase was seamless; I communicated with the guy and offered him a few hundred bucks to trailer it up to Columbia from Tulsa. Had it in the driveway within a few days.

Then again, all of that stuff was a decade or so ago. By most accounts its fallen to hell since then. I've grabbed some LED aquarium lights on there (the chinese sellers) and while customer service takes awhile, it's not really their fault. Time zones are a bitch - usually limits you to a couple interactions/day while trying to figure stuff out.

I've never done anything as a seller though - and I can't imagine I ever would. Too many assholes that have become entirely too savvy about screwing people.

If I can't sell it locally, I'll just find a way to write it off or if its something with a niche market, I'll utilize a more specific auction service.

For the last year or so I have been checking Ebay on items the Mrs. was going to order on Amazon. I have found several items that are much less expensive for the same item with free shipping as well. Just this morning, a water distiller was $120 on Amazon and $80 for the exact same unit on Ebay. We found a similar situation on printer cartridges, shampoo and other items.

As far as selling, when I first started Ebay, Jan 2000, it was all in favor of the seller. I sold a few things, no issues.

Then, about 5 years ago, I sold an item that they totally scammed me out of. Ebay has done a total 180 in favor of the buyer, I guess to compete with Amazon and there is no way I would try and sell anything on it again.

Ebay was once a fun place to shop (like 1999). But now it's a crap shoot. And people are just nasty and dishonest. Tired of buying things listed as like new that are at best ok. Pictures taken at angles just leaving out the damaged parts and then getting all defensive when you call them out on it. Had one guy claim he never received an item I sold. I simply sent ebay the tracking info with delivery confirmation.

Once Amazon got involved with the used market, ebay dropped their listing fees. Items used to have to be sold or you'd pay to relist. This just let's sellers inflate their prices and leave it for months.

I sold a guy a limited production numbered 1/18 die cast model of Sox and Martin's GTX. It had never been out of the box and I put it inside another box wrapped in bubble wrap. He claimed it was damaged and ebay gave him an instant refund and had him ship it back to me, but I didn't receive it. My last attempt at selling anything on there.

But I still prefer to buy on eBay as they are doing there best to offer better deals than Amazon in many cases.
