Opiate, no. Adderall, somewhat. This past spring semester. I was struggling in calculus big time and needed to get a C in the class in order for my credit to transfer to KU, where it was then a pre-req for a couple classes I was already enrolled in for next fall.

So in April, after I figured out what I needed to do to get a C in the course from my professor, I bought some addy off my friend to pull one all-nighter and catch up on caluclus. Adderall probably isn't the worst thing in the world, but I was addicted to something that I didn't need to be taking. The shit I could pull-off academically while wired on it was amazing. But one all-nighter turned into 9 or 10 in the month of April + finals week in May.

My three calculus test scores from last semester?

72
47
95 - top of the class

Can anyone guess which test I spent 48 hours wired on adderall preparing for? I didn't sleep, when one addy started to wear off.. I just took another one.

I got a C in the class.
At the end of the year, I was definitely becoming dependent on that stuff. Haven't taken any since, however, mainly because summer came and I have no use for it. It's all over college campuses. Very easy to get.

I actually do this as well, but I generally start on episode 1 of season 2. From there, the only episode I skip is "Mike's Tots" or whatever it's called. The one where Michael promises to send a bunch of elementary school kids to college and can't follow through. That episode sucks.

I love the show but don't like any story line involving Michael Scott and girlfriends.

Two of my favorite moments on the show were...

Damn, I just butchered that Savannah accent. But you feel me though.

I used to love Xanax was pretty bad on it for awhile and I liked to drink with em too which is stupid. That was about 3 years ago. Glad I stopped doing that to say the least

Beer, pussy, and work (unfortunately).

Doing well at my job makes me feel good. It's an odd one to put on this list, but it's there. I guess I could spin it into adrenaline that I truly enjoy.

Good choices, but this is the scene that I believe elevated me to the peak of my "The Office" enjoyment:

No shocker, but food for me. I struggle.

Caffeine is another one.

I've been a smoker off and on through the years, but never really felt like I was addicted, I just enjoyed smoking. I would smoke for 3-4 months and then quit for 6 without any issue, like I'd get bored with it. When my allergies got really bad in my move to SC and the AL, I quit for good and never looked back.

Euphoria like you couldn't imagine. I'm damn lucky I'm not dead knowing what I know now. I just thank the Lord I never graduated beyond hydro and the occasional oxycodone.

Some days I still miss it, but I've come a long way to being drug free. I'm not willing to jeopardize that.

Benzo withdrawl was the ****ing worst thing I've ever been through, btw. Even coming off a 1mg daily klonipin dose was hell. I don't know how people who take large doses of benzos ever quit.

Thanks Smoke. That's pretty heavy.

This one me struck me. My main goal, every day, is to show my Management either a success or some sort of visibility that reminds them I know what I'm doing. I get lots of positive feedback, which really drives me.

And it's a great thrill. Great medicine for what ails ya.

I'm on a new gig now and I still use the same formula but this group gives zero feedback. Unless you ****ed up. It's very disheartening for me. I don't give 110% anymore.

Quality, timely feedback is so important. Lots of managers don't know this; they often ignore high performers because they don't think they need it. Sad, really.

Caffeine withdrawal is a b****. I tried giving up caffeine once and it was almost impossible in fact it became impossible. Had a couple of pretty bad headaches the first few days and I can work my way down from them. Then about a week later I got nauseous and thought I was getting sick. Found an article that said it was caffeine withdrawal. My wife also said that I was too grumpy and that I needed caffeine. Bought me a 20 oz dew. So she is the enabler.
