If she becomes a nurse practioner she'll make great money.

Been there, done that. Those were actually fun times. Just don't stress it... things work themselves out in the end.

Other than gas prices, we are doing just fine.

Get one. Get a couple of them. And follow up with them at least once a week. The reason for the follow ups is you stage in your career, but keep up with them, plus look on your own.

I will definitely look into that. Thanks for the advice :)

The economy isnt hitting me or mine hard.

Im a web developer though, work is never going away for me. I have too much damn work as a matter of fact. I do have friends who chose not to get an education and they are being hit hard, but I suspect education has little to dowith it, probably more the field you are in.

I started traveling for work around the time the economy went into the sh*tter, so it worked out well because they reimburse (bill the client) everything. Weekend roadtrips suck because of 25mpg/$50 per tank, but overall it was great timing.

Try getting a job with zero experience as an accounting graduate with an emphasis in finance. Yeah, the economy is making me depressed.

A friend of mine in London got a job with Lehman Brothers about a month ago. Yeah, their stock had been going down for a while, but as a job seeker who was hoping to find something before having to move back to the States, it's not something she could really worry about. Started a week and a half ago, was let go Monday with the news of the bankruptcy. Now she has to move back here, find a way to come up with the money to buy a car, and oh yeah, find a job. :banghead:

Unfortunately for the rest of us, these companies, the lenders who threw cash at those who wanted to buy a house they couldn't afford, and those who bought the houses they couldn't afford, all deserve it. Who could have known... :doh!:

You think maybe we're just a little bit spoiled?

If you have to worry about the price of beer, maybe you're drinking too much. I think we're all just a little bit spoiled.

The oil companies are doing a lot of drilling and field work in this area so for the most part, energy prices, and retirement savings plummeting are the only major problems for us. We are having employment problems in that there aren't enough workers to fill positions - restuarants are really hurting - a lady in our church that manages one was told by her District Manager that if the person is breathing, she needs to hire them.

We used to call that the spoon test. Hold a spoon up to their mouth, if it clouds up they are breathing and hireable! :thumb:

Good Lord man, in our neck of the Woods you would be the Big Dog on the block with that kind of money. Depending on where you are in realtions to 100k you could be making almost triple what I make. I would kill to see that kind of income.

Have you considered moving to a new city that will offer more opportunity?

Of course we are, but you can't take it with you....

(also, I didn't spend 6, er, 7 years in college so I could live like the Amish)

I switched to getting my shiatsu once a week instead of every other day. I've been in a pretty bad mood all the time.
