You are correct. The phantom hold on a FG attempt and the blown call on what was a TD for Tony (it was a TD due to the force out rule back then) cost the team the game. Even needing just a FG on that last drive because of the phantom FG hold sends the Mule tools packing

Knock on wood, but I think we’re probably safe from him getting hired, even if we’re a top 5 defense by the end of the year. I know the Texans still exist as a franchise, but old DCs aren’t quite in vogue these days. And there are already a couple of them like Dan Quinn and Anarumo who are further up the totem pole, I imagine.

He’s deserving of a job, and maybe he would have had a second chance if this were 20 years ago, but now it’s going to be tough for him to get one, especially as the years go by.

I think his best shot is going to be this year. If we can win the SB and he's leading a shutdown defense...there will be a team that gives him another chance.

If that's the case, then I'd promote Cullen.

With Bolton back, I’m also not as concerned with their running attack and I can definitely see Bolton having a whale of a game against them.

This secondary is the best we’ve had and the LBers are huge hitters that match up well with Baltimore.

I think our 4 linebackers and Omenihu's unique blend of speed and strength would be a really tough matchup for their running game, too.

As Boss said...the only thing that concerns me is our tackles holding up in that game, and their corners against our WR.

Teams pile up rushing yards against us when A) we are defending the pass or B) they are killing clock.

The run defense is generally good enough that teams can't use it to drive the length of the field on us, or score touchdowns.

To me there were a couple games when we were without Bolton we got run on. But absent those games we have held up pretty well against the run.

His D is gonna' drag losers like Sky and MVS to a 2nd SB ring...
