Ok, who said they like The Substance... that is 2 hours I will never get back. The only redeeming quality of that movie was getting to see Maragret Qualley's hot bod in the flesh. Demi Moore still has great tits at her age too but **** that movie was painful to watch for 2 hours.

This guys movie review about sums it up for me at least...

Any fans of Tim Robinson's "I Think You Should Leave" sketch comedy show on Netflix? Well if so A24 bought the rights to a movie that is called "Friendship" and it stars Robinson and Paul Rudd. It was shown at a few festivals back at the end of 2024 and they just released the trailer today. I think it looks hilarious, especially if you like Tim Robinson.

JFC Nosferatu. Gothic Torture Porn of the highest order LMAO

Lovely to see it shot on 35mm film.

BigRichard 02-14-2025 12:19 PM

Thought the first one was pretty good. And The Punisher is back in it in what looks like a more substantial role. I will definitely be checking it out. Ben Afflack definitely is looking a little rougher around the edges.

How was Bateman? I haven't seen a single movie of his that was good. He doesn't seem to be a very good actor and is running on some kind of old teenage girl crush boy appeal he enjoyed decades ago. Identity Thief had the potential of being a good movie but the screenwriter seemed intent on torturing the audience with such bad material I was wishing someone would come into the theater and shoot me barely halfway through.

Not to give too much away, he was just a voice on a phone/earpiece for like 75% of the movie. He’s got a great voice so there’s that..

Personally, I think he works best as a comedic straight man. He didn’t stand out either good or bad in this one, IMO.

I watched the Contractor with Chris Pine. It is pretty by the numbers spy/spec ops/private security flick.

It was formulaic, but good. It's worth a look if you're in the mood.

Basically a romance movie for 2A enthusiasts so worth it if you want to spice up your night after hitting the range together as a couple on a date night

Plot had more turns than the Zambezi Zinger...

crayzkirk 03-02-2025 05:03 PM

Anyone seen Elevation?

It's pretty much a paint by numbers scifi thriller, except they made Morena Baccarin look pretty average. Anthony Mackie just doesn't have much acting range. At least it's not a girl boss movie like most coming out of Hollywood. My rating is a solid C+.

mlyonsd 03-03-2025 06:11 PM

Bill Murray
Ed Harris
Pete Davidson
Jennifer Coolidge

We thought it was okay for the $15 we spent.

War Machine on Netflix is way old but I just stumbled upon this gem, a dark comedy about the Afghan war

I'm only 20 minutes in but its hilarious, Pitt is doing his Inglorious Bastards tough guy leader thing and its great... great main cast with Pitt, Anthony Michael Hall, Ben Kingsley

Some hilariously dated technology scenes LMAO

ChiliConCarnage 03-23-2025 12:24 PM

New HBO Max flicks

Heretic

The new Hugh Grant movie with Sophie Thatcher. Not really anything you haven't seen before. I thought it was a fun watch. Hugh Grants had an interesting career turnaround.

The Parenting

A horror comedy. Didn't really work, I got a few good laughs but I wouldn't go out of your way. I wasn't familiar with the two lead guys but the rest of the cast is pretty familiar.

Frazod 03-23-2025 03:53 PM

Certainly not a new movie at this point, but I finally got around to watching Twisters the other day. Much like the original, it was mindless and silly but a lot of fun. The CGI was very well done. Glenn Powell continues to perfect the somehow likeable douchebag role he plays in everything I've seen him in, and Kiernan Shipka is a huge upgrade in the looks department from Helen Hunt.

Paid homage to the original without copying it note for note. I figured the pseudo-bad guy would complete his redemption arc by dying heroically, but to my surprise he lived. I was also a bit surprised that none of the original cast made an appearance, but I guess the main ones we'd want to see again are dead, so it doesn't really matter.

It was entertaining. I wouldn't have minded seeing it in the theater.

Hammock Parties 03-24-2025 06:58 AM

Watched Den of Thieves 2. Definitely not as good as the original but still made it through well enough. Probably didn't need to be 2.5 hours long, though.

Red Dawg 03-31-2025 05:28 PM

Denver of Thieves 2 was not very hlgood imo. Seeing how they admitted that they couldn't find money being stolen at the end of the first movie what exactly is the man wanted for?

I haven't went back to see if these have been posted yet, but 2 movies in very excited for:

#1 "Sinners" with Michael B. Jordan & Hailee Steinfeld
Currently at 98% on rotten tomatoes with 296 critic reviews and a 97% from 10k viewers.

#2 "Weapon" not many of the details about this movie have come out. Just a teaser trailer. Has an outstanding star studded cast - Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Bryan Tyree Henry, and Benedict Wong.

It's about a town where 17 kids just run off in the middle of the night. Teaser trailer is pretty god damn creepy.
