Finally. God. Hunt's corner should have thrown in the towel.
Whatever you're watching sounds cool
The ref, the doctor, and Hunt's corner should all be ashamed of themselves. That was ridiculous.
Dana White is pissed on twitter that the doctor did not stop the fight after the 4th round. Thats unheard of.

If this fight would have been stopped in the 3rd round like it should have been, it would have gone down as one of the greatest fight cards in modern UFC history.
Instead, due to reeruned macho Australian sensibilities where the ref and doctor both refused to call the fight when their hero Mark Hunt was involved, the main event severely tainted this card. That was hard to watch. |

Pettis and Khabib continue to take shots at each other over being hurt, while neither can fight twice in a row without dropping out due to injury. Just wacky

Massive new penalties have been approved in Nevada, the UFC will adopt them for regions that they self-regulate in with no AC, and Nevada is going to ask all AC's to adopt similar penalties.
Also, a failed test in Nevada will result in a Loss rather than a No Contest. New penalties are effective September 1st. Sedatives, Opiates, and Weed 1st time: 18 months, 30-40% of purse 2nd time: 2 years, 40-50% of purse 3rd time: 3 years, 60-75% of purse 4th time: Life, 100% of purse As before, MJ will still be banned only in-competition and only tested for on the night of the fight. Stimulants (including amphetamines and cocaine) 1st time: 2 years, 35-45% of purse 2nd time: 3 years, 50-60% of purse 3rd time: Life, 100% of purse Another change here: going forward, stimulants (including cocaine) will not be treated the same as MJ, and will now always be banned and will be tested for out of competition. Steroids 1st time: 3 years, 50-70% of purse 2nd time: 4 years, 75-100% of purse 3rd time: Life, 100% of purse Avoid/running from a test or using masking agents to beat a test 1st time: 4 years, 50% of purse 2nd time: Life, 100% of purse |
Wow! Steep.
The funny thing is, this is probably going to be forced upon boxing as well, and I imagine the boxing promoters aren't too thrilled, but Dana White and the Fertittas are powerful in Vegas, and they wanted new huge penalties for combat sports.
Wooooow. Thpse are stiff penalties. JBJ better drop the coke habit.
All the other major sports should adopt those.
Those penalties are a little excessive.
Saw one clarification by Ariel Helwani wrt the failed test leading to a loss; a non-cheating fighter who lost to someone who failed a test won't get a win, they will still have a No Contest.
Also, diuretics are complicated. If they are detected "in-competition" for the night of the fight, they will assume you were using them to cut weight and the punishment is similar to stimulants, but with a slightly lower financial penalty. If found out of competition, then they will assume you are using it as a masking agent, which carries the most severe set of punishments. |

I don't want to jinx it, but it looks like everyone stayed healthy for this weekend. This card is ridiculously stacked.

So, predictions?
I'm going Cowboy by KO, Belfort by submission, and DC by decision. I would also be fine with it if Rumble somehow blasted through DC, but I just think he's going to get wrestled for 5 rounds. |
Cowboy by TKO...think Weidman washes Vitor w/o the magic juice so TKO there too, DC by boring UD.

Rumble, Weidman, and Cerrone all by KO/TKO.
Rumble in 1 Cerrone in 2 Weidman in 3. |

And how often have we seen Cormier knocked out?
And how often have we seen Rumble struggle with elite wrestlers? |

Cowboy said he will ask for a title shot in Denver if he wins. He figured he's been such a loyal company guy for so long that he deserves to not just fight for a title, but also pick the location.

Predictions....Cowboy by Submission, DC by submission (Rumble will gas) Weidman by decision, |
Everyone made weight except for some random strawweight chick.
Weidman publicly accused Belfort of using PED's on stage at the weigh-in |

Vitor just needs to call it quits at this point. He's like the official sponsor of steroids.
From reading the opinions of medical and PED test experts, Weidman doesn't know what he is talking about. The urine test doesn't necessarily prove that Belfort is clean, but Belfort's result wasn't that unusual, and as far as his complaints that Belfort's levels were higher than Weidman's, the issue is not that Belfort's is too high, but that Weidman's is strangely low, and he should probably see a doctor to figure out what is going on with himself.
The strawweight fight is off. Ansaroff has the flu and could not get medically cleared to fight.
Sucks for Rose, but Pyle's fight has been bumped up to the FS1 prelims, which is good. Pyle is too good to be stuck on fightpass, even for a card that is this stacked. |
if his levels were too high, Dana would have outted him. Then again, some people just like to talk shit and it hypes the fight.
Buckle up, this is on paper, one of the greatest cards this year so far...
I'm watching it, but half of you are too ****ing stupid to talk to
I got bored so I ordered the fight
Someone's getting knocked out in this next fight

THAT
WAS CRAZY |
WHAT A ****ING BATTLE!
OK, well. That was really huge for Arlovski.
Great round/fight. Usually Pitbull fights are boring as ****.
That was just awesome!
The big 3 fights are next. Jesus, what a freaking massive setup for that, its almost hard to believe that there won't be some kind of letdown.
Cowboy needs to take care of business. I'll be pissed if he somehow blows it.
That was a round of the year candidate. (FOTY usually needs to be more than 1 round)
Opening up a 25 ounce Budweiser for Cowboy now.
Cowboy is punishing his legs. Going to sap the power out of the other guy's hands.
I could watch that crazy kicking redneck all day.
Quote:
Those leg kicks don't look like much to newer fans, but they REALLY hurt |
Holy crap, Cowboy broke his jaw with a kick
Props on that guy for taking the fight.
Cowboy is a beast. |
Cowboy is obviously getting the title shot now. Thats gonna be a hell of a PPV.
These title fights are gonna have to be pretty ****ing terrible for UFC 187 to not go down as being epic
Man. Vitors body so much different off the juice.
Obligatory huge USA vs Brazil mega-fight...
GOOD DEFEATS EVIL!!!
Welp. Vitor's done.
Wow. Vitor is a bitch drug free.
Thought he had a shot for a minute. Once he didn't put Weidman down on the flurry I knew he was ****ed. His hands aren't even close to being as heavy as they were when he was juicing.
Even if the main event ends up being a huge pile of dogshit, this has been an awesome PPV, easily worth the cost

Watching it by myself and it's definitely been worth the $60. |
I was hugely skeptical of Weidman after the Silva fights (and fighting a shop-worn Machida didn't help that).
He's much better than I had initially thought. |
I've got DC by a 5 round decision
I think Rumble gets the KO.
I don't think Cormier is big enough to manhandle Rumble and Rumble's going to catch him with one of those devastating uppercut.

That McGregor vs. Aldo fight is going to be nuts.
I think Aldo puts McGregor down. Aldo is a ****ing beast. |
He tested at 1200NG???
