That's where I keep shaking my head.

NFL Player is in a high speed crash that kills his girlfriend - gets 3 months of house arrest. Ignored - "Rice should spend time in prison!"

Massive list of NFL Player suspensions under the personal conduct policy that amount to almost exclusively penalties of 1-4 games for various traffic incidents all the way up to friggen gun violence. Ignored -- "It would establish a soft precedent!"

I just don't know what more can be demonstrated to this point. The legal system doesn't drop hammers on cases like this. I've said it literally from day 1. They just never have - doing so here would be a WILD swerve from existing precedent. The NFL barely even notices these things; 1-2 games tops unless it's a DUI situation. Doing anything else would be, again, a MASSIVE break from existing policy/precedent.

So is it their position that the NFL should completely scrap literally a decade+ of precedent and a trend established by dozens of previous incidents that are no better (and often worse) than what Rice did? All so they can hand down a disproportionately stiff punishment to Rashee Rice?

The degree of willful ignorance and obstinance here is just a head scratcher to me.

Yeah. The NFL grows as an organization whose responsibility is to themselves.

The law grows at a snails pace and is beholden to a piece of paper.

Can we stop saying he didn’t do shit? He did do shit. Do I want him punished for it or do I hate him for it? No. But he’ll probably get a light penalty out of it, I will root for that because I want to win football games, but he’s goddamn lucky to get off light. But we don’t have to make excuses for bad behavior. He didn’t just drive fast and wreck a car. He was racing at extremely high speeds, fled the damn scene, and considering he was at a bar and had weed in his car it’s fair to speculate if he was even in best condition to drive normal let alone at 120 mph. He did something, I will just choose to root for him to get away with it.

Have we devolved into "racist" yet? I've been away for a tad.

Katipan 04-18-2024 09:57 AM

The more the articles reference the 3 and 4 year olds he walked away from, the harder it will be for the NFL.

I get more ass than a toilet seat in the women's room on ladies night at the local pub.

Have you considered your own hypocrisy?

"electric chair"
"life sentence"
"on the run"
"chief hater"

etc...etc...

Then admitting you're a a troll while trying to hold others to your perceived standards?

Just STFU.

Someone please start a new thread when something actually happens. Thx. Done reading all the heartfelt crying/whining at this point.

Its kind of a perfect shitty storm For Rashee Rice.

Given the timing, when not much else is going on in the news cycle. ESPN and other news outlets have reported on the situation ad nauseam.

The Chiefs are currently "the" team every one loves to hate, due to recent success. Also given he was emerging as a solid WR given the state and media conversations about the Chiefs WR position group last season. Feels like every one piling on an already shitty situation.

I have to admit as a Chiefs fan, of course I want Rashee Rice back on the field ASAP. I was so excited to see his progression last year. I am just tired of losing talented players to dumb ass decisions that affect the teams ability to move forward successfully. He is an important piece of the roster and regardless how you feel about the severity of the punishment. This shows some questionable decision making on his part. Its something all teams deal with, but the Chiefs have seemed to have had more incidents in recent history.

2cents

Holy shit. You know who doesn't get hardly any ass? The guy that has to over exaggerate the amount of ass he's getting, so he doesn't look like a loser on the Internet.
