I think (or hope at least) that we will be pleasantly surprised by their activity. Maybe they sign a couple of dudes who we really never expected, but merely hoped for.

Many are quick to assume that this roster, at least defensively, is shit and will stay that way. I don't think so at all. I think Veach will find ways, whether it be via FA, trades, or draft to fill tons of holes.

I'd bet on the overall defensive roster being better in 2018 than 2017.

I’d like to see 1-3 year deals primarily in FA. Easy to get out of, but can hopefully assist you while the QB is cheap. Thinking about the Seahawks and what they did back when Wilson was cheap. They signed guys like Bennett and Avril to short deals before 2013 and it made all the difference for their D.
