Looks similar to A Quite Place... I am a sucker for these type of post apocalyptic movies.
Aliens, monkeys, wars, zombies... I don't care.

The bathroom scene is easily the funniest scene of all time.

Hot Tub Time Machine is a low-key masterpiece and callback to those 80s movies with the likes of Cusack.

When I first saw that with a group of friends one of my buddies was turning his head away at that part, it was hilarious. ROFL

ThaVirus 10-19-2024 07:27 PM

I saw Hot Tub Time Machine in theaters with a bunch of coworkers. Hilarious movie. Didn’t take itself seriously at all.

It’s not a 10/10 movie but it was a 10/10 experience for us.

I was particularly fond of the “Are we raping?!?” line. And getting upset everytime the bellhop didn’t lose his arm lol

JoeHitashi 10-20-2024 05:48 PM

Did you guys see the scene of fleabag that got recreated on the chicken date house show?? OH MY GOD

I posted this over in DC because it is probably more fitting over there but hey... nothing obvious here or anything.

Hmm doubt I want to spend money at the theatre to see this, but I'm intrigued.

Fishels 11-20-2024 10:42 PM

The Substance with Demi Moore is an absolutely must see horror film. Not scary at all but it’s a proper “body horror” film and it’s genuinely funny and it’s supposed to be that way. Best movie I saw in theaters this year

I belly laughed harder then most comedies(in a good way)

I got dragged to this with my girlfriend’s family. Was not a fan, but I was the only one who felt that way. Just seemed way too long for an obvious plot. I was also the only one who went with no idea that this was a thing before the movie so I didn’t have the nostalgic feel for these songs. The theater freaked out for a couple older people in the movie that apparently were the original broadway performers or something. It’s not absolutely terrible, but a lot of the songs are completely forced. I also have to hear my girlfriend singing that annoying popular song everyday now so I think I hate it more now than I did when I was watching it ROFL Ariana Grande does a good job and has a great voice, but some of her high notes just gave me a headache and it was pretty often that she would hit them.

War department and I went and saw it the day after Thanksgiving. The wicked witch was good, the good witch was a self-centered bitch and the Wizard was evil. At least the flying monkeys were still scary. They twisted one of the all time great movies in it's time into "woke" crap.

stumppy 12-11-2024 02:07 PM

Yikes! Are they both competing for the Scarecrow part in the next movie?

On a side note. I took the four grandkids to see Wicked on Thanksgiving day.

They all gave it a 4.4/5 or higher rating. Me? eh, I guess a 4/5 for what it is. Of course I knew it was a musical going in but jeez. They could have cut about a third of the music out and inserted some dialogue and I'd have liked it a lot better.

PunkinDrublic 12-11-2024 07:04 PM

I went and saw “The Order” the other night. Cool true crime story about the FBI taking down a white supremacist group in the early eighties. Jude Law was really good in it.

His character is getting crazier with each movie.

Sassy Squatch 12-20-2024 03:50 PM

I can see why he's done 3 movies as Eggman (so far). They seem to just let him do whatever the **** he wants. Even crazier in this one since he's playing two characters at the same time.

ThaVirus 12-20-2024 07:40 PM

Beetlejuice 2 was whatever. Enjoyable enough, I guess. I didn’t really care for the first one so the chances of me being wowed by this one were low.

Monica Bellucci would get it, though. She’s still hot, even like 60 years old and all Corpse Bride’d up.

Kind of the opposite feel for me, as a fan of the original. I thought it was disappointing and forgettable. It lacked the creepy charm that made the first one great.

Its not exactly new from 2022, but I'm a little over halfway thru The Gray Man with Ryan Gosling

Finally broke down and bent the knee to Netflix for the game tomorrow, and also just to see if its worth it... my first choice was this movie, lol... an actioner sooo over the top it makes 007, John Wick, Rambo, and Vin Diesel look like ham and eggers

Great action, its just one gigantic jump the shark battle after another

Good grief, bring your suspension of disbelief

Beautifully made movie, just not exciting nor interesting. Orlok's body looked CGI & out of place in many scenes. Seems to be Eggers thing, to wow everybody via eye candy but forget to entertain. Lot of plot cohesion was lost due to drawn out cinematography for visuals, could've been 40 minutes shorter. This is a gothic/art house romance not horror IMO.

Yeah, her face just seems plastic or something. Definitely seemed a bit off. Movie wasn't bad but as Buehler said, giant plot holes and the guy making horrible decisions caused most of the issues.

BigRichard 12-30-2024 07:22 AM

You like this movie? Terrible in my opinion. So many plot fails with many moments that don't make sense or are completely unrealistic.
I did a lot of eye rolling on this watch.

KCUnited 12-30-2024 03:08 PM

Carry On's biggest fail is how they tried to market it as a "Die Hard Christmas Thriller!" and I can't recall one memorable line from the movie

It'll do if you're fatigued from scrolling and its the first thing their algorithm pops up for you so you're like **** it, but something people are going to watch over and over, not even close

Looked pretty good to me. May have been the scene where she was being all loving, sweet, and supportive with the main character that really appealed to me.

Turns out she’s Colombian, by the way.

I called it an “enjoyable one-off” meaning I didn’t hate it but I’ll never watch it again. There are worse ways to spend a couple hours, IMO.

Yeah the action was nonstop, and maybe slightly more believable than Gray Man

But after a while its just like how much can one man pull off, and how much punishment can he take? I'm not sure even the most hardened and skilled Delta/Seal guy could do everything Hemsworth did

Just got back from "A Complete Unknown". It was really good and the wife liked it too. 9/10 for me.

Wife and I watched Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blount . Really enjoyed it, totally a cheesy action movie but I don’t care. Perhaps it’s the nostalgia in me as a kid loving the original show and Lee Majors. In the age of remakes I thought it was a really well done effort be sort of captured the vibe of the original
