Beating KU is just like beating the raiders, it goes way beyond games and championships, it’s about saving mankind from the forces of darkness and depravity. This is but one of many fronts in the eternal battle of good and evil. Last night good hit a lick against evil.

Not gonna lie, I had to look up YMMV

I do agree with your sentiment. It's all in good fun - and that's a list of very good dudes. I just don't get myself worked up into much of a frenzy these days over what a bunch of 18-22 year old kids do on the court/field. I really enjoy the games, but I don't take it personal and let it ruin my day/night.

The third loss had no impact on the conference title standings. But don’t feel too bad, KU fans have never been able to grasp that either.

Hey, when you play in the ol' barn to the East, it always 5 on 8. I laugh when KWHO crowd complains about officials calling more fouls on KU than the opponent. Push comes to shove, and with Kansas on your chest it gives you the right to molest the opposition. Funny how the crowd started leaving the building before the end of the BYU game, as they cannot accept defeat, as you poke fun to you're in-state revival. You wonder why it harder to win in the NCAA tournament.

From https://www.k-statefans.com/forums/v...hp?f=3&t=17126

Kansas State began showing interest in Goodland (Kan.) five-star tight end Linkon Cureat the start of his recruitment. The Wildcats were the first school to offer Cure and told him that he could have a massive impact on the Big 12 program. As his stock kept rising, he became even more of a priority to head coach Chris Klieman and his staff.

Oregon made a big move for Cure during his official visit to the Ducks and rose up his list, but Kansas State hosted him the next weekend. During his time in Manhattan, the 6-foot-4.5, 210-pound recruit spent time with the Wildcats’ coaches along with quarterback Avery Johnsonand running back Dylan Edwards. It was on that “amazing” trip that Cure realized he wanted to play for Kansas State and he proceeded to announce his commitment to the Wildcats on Monday over Kansas, Oregon and Texas A&M.

“It was a feeling that I got,” Cure told On3. “That Saturday night, I didn’t sleep at all. First I texted Taylor Braet. I had to call him to wake him up, so I called him at 7:00 in the morning and said, ‘Hey, can you come pick me up at the hotel and take me to the stadium? I just need some time to think.’ He said, ‘Yeah, I’ll be right there.’ So, he took me to the stadium and I went up into Section 227 and either seat 17 or 18. I sat down and that’s when I was making sure it was the right decision.

“I let a lot of tears out, unfortunately. It was pretty emotional for me because I started my whole process at a camp at K-State and then, that’s where it all was ending. It was definitely really emotional for me and that’s what it all came down to. I knew it was right. Coach Klieman also came up there and had a conversation with me, which was really cool. We got some alone time in the stadium, so I absolutely loved everything about that.”

Cure grew up a Kansas State fan and attended games at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium. The No. 2 player in Kansas is now ready to stay home and help lead the Wildcats to new heights.

“I always had that love for them,” said Cure, the No. 27 overall prospect and No. 2 tight end in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. “For Kansas State to be my first offer, starting my recruitment there and ending it there, that meant everything to me while I was sitting up in those stands and reflecting on everything. It’s a moment I’m going to remember for the rest of my life.”

Goodland is roughly 300 miles from Kansas State, yet Cure enjoys being around Manhattan, a city that has “my type of people.” The area around the Wildcats’ campus and their fanbase played key roles in his decision to play college football in his home state.

Kansas State’s culture under Klieman also caught Cure’s attention. The Wildcats went 9-4 last season and the year before, they beat TCU– who made it to the College Football Playoff National Championship – in the Big 12 Championship.

“You can’t beat it,” Cure said about the culture at Kansas State. “Every one of those guys that K-State has is a top-notch person. They are not just a good player, but also a top-notch person. I absolutely love that about them.”

When Cure showed up at that Kansas State camp a few years ago, he was coming off a season in which he played through injury. The Wildcats’ coaches did not have a lot of film on Cure, but his strong performance that day greatly impressed them. It “meant everything” to the five-star when Kansas State eventually offered him because he felt like Klieman and his staff took a chance on him.

That chance ended up paying off for both Cure and the Wildcats. He not only built a strong bond with Klieman and Braet – Kansas State’s Director of Recruiting – but also offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Conor Riley and tight ends coach Brian Lepak among others.

“I absolutely love that coaching staff,” Cure said. “I have so much respect for them, so it was really cool being around them a lot during my official visit.”

Cure is excited to play for Klieman, who he grew close with throughout his recruitment. The two continued their bond during Cure’s visit last month and the Kansas native is excited to learn from the Wildcats’ head man when he arrives on campus.

“The biggest thing about coach Klieman is how much of a leader he is for that program and his staff,” Cure said. “Everybody looks up to him, including the coaching staff. He’s a great guy to be around. I got to go golfing with him, so we talked a lot then. I also got to have that conversation in the stadium with him. He’s not just a guy you want to play for. He’s a guy you want to sacrifice everything for. I want to go on that field and give

I believe that is the ceiling, no doubt. But their schedule is very tricky. A few trap games with the ISU game in Ames at the end.

Thinking it will come down to health and the production on the offensive side.

Yeah, I'm just going to stop you here and let you know that Howard knew he wasn't going to be the QB for Kansas State in 2024. Had he stayed, he would have been regulated as a back-up QB. This has been established as a fact.

The funny thing is, apparently you don't recognize is that, why did it take Ohio State this long, just to name him a QB? If Howard was really that good, then why in the world would Ohio State wait that long just to anoint him as a starting QB just now?

Oh, I know for a fact that K-State wanted him to come back for sure. He just didn’t want to play as Avery Johnson’s backup. Very understandable.

Like it matters.

Klieman has put together a pretty good squad. Offense should be good. The defense has to be better. Avery on the road has to be better. I like the Cats chances.

I’m glad we can continue to discuss the cats FB success. We have nice roster and a nice stadium.

And one day our in state brothers will have a fine little MLS activity complex of their own.

IDK about the playoff but them or Utah for the league should make for a competitive CCG.

Trying to find tickts for KSU vs. OSU. But holy shit. Over $300 cheapest seat I've found. $150 standing room only.

DCTwister 09-08-2024 03:40 PM

How did little brother KU’s QB do yesterday? I forget.

I have to be out of town for the ku game, so I sold my 4 tickets and parking pass for $1800. I had a ku buddy offer me $2600, but there’s NFW I was selling my tickets to a ku fan :)

Cats were pretty fortunate to be one of the blue bloods that gets those kind of "rigging the game calls" like Notre Dame. Just a fact of life.

Guess we fans will just have to live with that. (*darn)

However I DO think the Cats were fortunate that the Green Wave QB decided to be an idiot and give the scoop n score. The D forced a punt and the Cats went into a shell, running DJ for 1 and then another 1 and then a screen pass for a giant gain of zero.

I understand being conservative and not giving the ball back in plus territory, but I swore that Messingham calling that drive. You HAVE to be a touch more creative there in the future.

Also, use Dylan Edwards a little more. He and DJ will be a very thunder and lightening combo.

Even though he was a bit inconsistent last season (I thought anyway), I was really missing Collin Klein calling plays yesterday.

I spent a good deal of the game yelling at the tv to stop calling pass plays behind the LOS. I hate that horizontal passing shit, throw the ****ing ball forward. I know everyone does it these days, but I felt like it was heavy handed yesterday.

In the post game, Kleiman said "we have to find an identity on O and D". He's correct. It's going to take some time for the team to gel after losing some good players on the OLine.

But D Edwards looks like a player.

Love Avery’s potential, but he better get some touch on his passes - soon - if we’re going to do anything big this year. Some really rough passes so far, with maybe 2-3 great ones.

Arizona is breaking out new unis and a script helmet for Friday's game. I thought this tweet by Fitz was pretty funny (even though I think Fitz is an absolute doucher)

Why would K-State NOT take a ranked opponent like U of A seriously? Or, for that matter, why would they not take any opponent seriously? It's pretty obvious they are far, far from a juggernaut.
